This amusement park is located in Nagashima Resort. The thrilling “Steel Dragon 2000” has the world’s longest track length at 2,479 meters. The park is full of attractions where you can enjoy speed and thrills, including Japan’s first 4D spin coaster “Arashi.” In addition, there is a large Ferris wheel, and Kids Town also has many attractions for children. There is a jumbo seawater pool in the summer where you can enjoy the world’s largest water slide. They also hold a large number of events.

Park is huge and needs time to walk from one place to another. We went in winter Dec, it was so empty and no queues to the rides at about 2pm. Paid the entrance fee and rides separately

Located in Toba City, this is Japan’s largest aquarium. Appropriate of its catch phrase “Japan’s largest number of species bred” the aquarium is home to approximately 1,200 species of animals. The aquarium has 12 zones that come close to natural environments, and one characteristic is that there is no prescribed viewing route. The aquarium has Japan’s only dugong, a sea creature which served as a model for the mermaid legends, and along with the manatees is a popular animal to see. Moreover, the museum not only features aquatic animals but also displays animals that live close to water such as capybara. The humorous show featuring sea lions and walruses is a must-see.

We stayed at an Onsen ryokan nearby, decide to explore the area in random. Drove along the main Pearl road and saw this aquarium adjacent to the large multi storey car park. Tickets reasonably...

This ninja museum in Iga Ueno Castle's Ueno Park boasts the best ninja collection in the world. Composed of the Ninja House, Ninja Experience Hall, and Ninja Tradition Hall, they showcase real ninjas with a concept of bringing ninjutsu into the present. The Ninja House itself was built by a local Iga clan, and under the guidance of a kunoichi (female ninja), you can check out its contrivances like trap doors, escape routes, and revolving walls. The Azura ninja group's breathtaking shows and the shuriken throwing program are also popular. So is the shop selling ninja related items.

Nice explanation of ninja culture. The tour of the typical ninja dwelling was very well done. The museum on the lower level was very informative along with the ninja residence building. I did not...

This castle ruin park stretches in front of the Iga Line's Uenoshi Station. A characteristic of the symbolic Iga Ueno Castle is the high stone wall built by Todo Takatora, a military commander in the Warring States period. It is also called Hakuho Castle (white firebird castle) because of the beauty of the white, three-tiered castle. There are an array of facilities in the park overflowing with history such as the Iga-ryu Ninja Yashiki (Iga style ninja mansion) with surprise twists and secret doors, the Haiseiden (Matsuo Basho Memorial) that is modeled after Basho's traditional Japanese travel outfit, and the Basho Memorial Museum. Especially at the ninja mansion, they demonstrate Iga-style ninja techniques, and everyone from history fans to children can enjoy themselves. In addition, there are many different flowers that bloom throughout the year, and it is especially famous as a place to view cherry blossoms. It is visited by many cherry blossom viewers in April.

An aquarium built around the idea of “zero” distance and shaking hands with animals. The aquarium holds frequent events where visitors can meet and touch sea animals like sea lions and spotted seals. During “walrus walk time,” you can take a commemorative photo with a walrus up close. The aquarium is divided into categories like a fish hall, marine mammal plaza, and sea lion hall. There’s also a rest area and shop where you can buy original merchandise.

The aquarium is nothing special, but you have the chance to touch walruses, play ball with dolphins, shake hands with the otter and watch some shows. It is a nice place to get close to the animals.

An aquarium where visitors can watch animals being fed by ama female divers. The aquarium’s most popular exhibit is its ocean sunfish, which are over three meters in length and weigh several tons. The facility’s largest exhibit, a large, curving tank, contains some 2,500 fish consisting of 50 species, including sharks and Japanese amberjack. The aquarium also has freshwater and rare fish exhibits, including designated Natural Monuments like nekogigi catfish and ayumodoki kissing loaches. The facility also holds special, reservation-only events where participants can view the backstage areas of the aquarium. The aquarium shop sells original merchandise. The aquarium’s restaurant serves Ise-Shima specialties.

This is a theme park connected to Nagashima Spa Land where you can experience the world of Anpanman yourself. The Yanase Takashi Theater features a miniature theater to see Anpanman shows and screenings, and Batako-san no Tezukuri House offers craft supplies and more. The shops and restaurants also feature unique decorations, and the restaurants feature several facilities to delight children and parents alike.

This museum opened in 2014. To reach it, take a bus for five minutes from the west entrance of Kintetsu, JR, and Ise Railway's Tsu Station and get off at the Sogo Bunka Center Mae stop. It's right there. The museum is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the prefecture. Its main exhibition room depicts Mie's characteristic natural environment around the perimeter of the room, and in the middle presents a comprehensive overview of its people, physical items, and history of cultural exchange. You can also see a fully reconstructed ancient elephant known as the Mie Elephant, consisting of the oldest fossils to be discovered in Mie prefecture. In the back yard there's a reproduction of the Torii Kofun burial mound's stone hut.

This historical museum run by Mie Prefecture is located about a 15-minute walk from Kintetsu Railway's Saiku Station. The place where the museum is built is the site of the palace for the ancient imperial princesses serving at the Ise shrine from ancient times until the period of the northern and southern dynasties (1336-1392). The exhibits are centered on Shinto rituals, history and culture related to the princesses serving at Ise Jingu Shrine. Onigajo, meaning “the Ogre’s Castle,” is a picturesque coastal area which has been selected as one of the 100 most beautiful in Japan. Legend has it that in the early Heian period, a pirate named Tagamaru, who was so fearsome he was thought to be an ogre, made his fortress here. It is said that Sakanoue no Tamuramaro later defeated the pirate. The area was designated a National Natural Monument in 1935 and registered as part of the Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range World Heritage site in 2004. The nearby Onigahara Center commercial facility has restaurants, travel information, and a shop selling local specialties.

Tsukairaku Park is just a three-minute walk from Tsu Station on the Kinki Nippon Railway. The second home that Todo Takayukiko, the 11th daimyo of Tsu Clan, built during the late 1850s has been turned into a park that makes use of the effects of the surrounding hills and valleys. The park is a favorite spot for viewing the blossoms of the 1000 or so Yoshino cherry trees that have been planted there, and during the blossom season, from late March to early April, the grounds are lit up with 250 or more standing and hanging paper lanterns, attracting large numbers of visitors. They can also see the purple Korean rhododendrons planted near Mt. Suzuka Ino and Mt. Shibumi.

I was to take the high speed boat to go to the airport and I had a couple of hours to kill. During the cherry blossom season, this would be a good place to spend an hour just strolling around and...

This campground is a place full of nature that is located at the entrance to Mt. Ryugatake, one of the Suzuka Seven Mountains. The draw is the facilities that utilize the nature of Suzuka Quasi-National Park as is, and the promenade in particular that overlooks a waterfall flowing in Uga Valley looks different depending on the season. In addition, you can play in the clear Uga River or barbecue. Besides pitching a tent on the river bed and staying the night, there are also accommodation facilities such as bungalows and Ryugatake Hutte in the reconstructed former Ishigure Elementary School building. This campground can be enjoyed by many people, from those who have never camped before, to families and those using hired limousine taxis to Ryugatake.
