Stone Culture Denshokan Museum
"This is the symbol of ""Stone Town Miyakubo-cho"" which has been producing beautiful durable Oshima-ishi granite since the start of the Edo-period. Oshima-ishi granite, which is as smooth to the touch as celadon porcelain, is marked by unwillingness to fade, with its deep grey increasing as time passes. It is used in both the National Diet Building and the imperial Akasaka Estate. There are displays on Oshima-ishi granite as well as other types of stone from around the world and you can learn about the history and culture of stone work. Unique stone works and monuments are dotted about the grounds and along with the main building there are grounds available for baseball and tennis and a multipurpose auditorium."
