Mt.Karei Lookout Park
This lookout park is on the Setouchi Shimanami Kaido Expressway which crosses numerous islands to connect Onomichi on the main island with Imabari. It's in the northern area of Oshima, the first island you reach after leaving Imabari. Located 232 meters above sea level on the peak of Mt. Karei, from the lookout you can see everything from the Hakata-Oshima Ohashi Bridge to the remains of Noshima Castle and the swirling tides of the Seto Inland Sea. With campsites and walking trails in the surrounding area it's the perfect place for all sorts of recreation. Near the summit is the Tomi Chaya tea-house which is open from spring to fall. While enjoying a meal made with local ingredients you can look over the scenery that surrounds the nationally designated Historic Site, the island of Noshima.
