"This longstanding sake company, established over 300 years ago, is located near the Maruya-cho Shopping Arcade and can be reached by heading east on the road from the Otsu Hyakucho-kan and Otsu Festival Hikiyama Exhibition Pavilion. The company creates sakes designed to meet the tastes of people today even as it remains dedicated to traditional laborious manual production methods. The company continues to vigorously engage in new activities, as well; examples include making Asajiu Overture, a beverage which can only be drunk at participating restaurants; and holding tours sponsored by the Otsu Station Tourist Information Center ""OTSURY"" which take participants to areas of the company's brewery which are normally off-limits. The company also makes and sells a variety of local sakes."

This longstanding Japanese pickle shop was established in 1850. The shop is situated in the center of the Maruya-cho Shopping Arcade near the Yuyukan community center. The shop's stunning wooden eave sign, made around the time the establishment first opened for business, has been designated a Scenic Important Advertisement by Otsu City. In 1914, the shop's Nagarazuke pickles, a regional pickle variety, were selected to be officially supplied to the then-Imperial Household Agency, and various materials relating to the reception of this designation are displayed in the shop. The shop is filled with Nagarazuke, senmaizuke pickled turnip slices, and a variety of other Japanese pickles made according to the same methods as when the shop was established.

This Japanese confectionary shop is located a five-minute walk from Nagahara Station on the JR Biwako Line. The shop makes two varieties, a standard sweet bean jam-filled wafer cake, and a wafer cake stuffed with a filling made with yuzu zest. The exquisite wafer cakes, a favorite among locals as well as tourists, also bear a gourd design modeled after Hideyoshi's battle standard. The shop sells a variety of other choice, fresh-made, additive-free Japanese confections, such as Chikubu no Homare cakes, and Tora no Ishi buns.
