They are grilled to just the right amount so that the flavor of the ingredients is apparent, and either choice comes with salad, rice, tsukemono (pickled vegetables), and soup.

    Grill Katayama is a Western-style restaurant that offers course cuisine using Ise-Shima’s Ise-ebi (spiny lobster), abalone, and the finest quality of Matsusaka beef all at reasonable prices. The popular menu from the previous store that opened in 1972 has left many items on the menu including beef stew, tongue stew, and crab cream croquette, and one can really sense their warm consideration of customers. It is located approximately two minutes on foot from Ujiyamada Station on the Kintetsu Toba Line.

    This bistro sits one block off of the main road that runs from Iseshi Station and Outer Ise Shrine. The shop’s name means “person who livens up the party” in French and the theme of the shop is to be a French Bistro overflowing with laughter. The foodie-loving chef hand picks all of the locally sourced ingredients and the diverse menu contains not only set courses but also lunch plates and a la carte options. Depending on season they offer such dishes rock oysters from Uramura or mussels from Toba. The “Madame” who is qualified as a sommelier warmly welcomes you.

    伊勢参りに行った際に夕食を食べに訪れました。お料理はアラカルトで注文いたしましたが、どれも分量がたっぷりですし、美味しく頂きました。

The lunch-exclusive “tourist plan” features an abalone-based set full of Ise delicacies.

    少し高級なお店ですがそれも納得の素敵なお店でした。新鮮な食材をきれいに調理され、見た目も楽しめる料理を提供してくれました。

It’s perfect for enjoying original recipes with a French twist in a casual setting. The sauces and desserts are all handmade. Organic vegetables and brown rice from Ise are used, as well as fresh Mie fish and other local ingredients. The “Mirepoix lunch” is packed with seasonal ingredients, and you’ll also find individual dishes and a dinner course that includes Matsusaka beef, Ise chicken, and other tasty options.

Cuccagna 2 is a spacious establishment, consisting of a cafe, Italian restaurant, and bar, is on the first floor of a two-story Western-style building along the approach to the Outer Shrine of Ise Jingu Shrine. The simple concrete design creates a relaxing atmosphere. The popular food menu includes pasta, pizza, and risotto made with local ingredients, as well as an extensive selection of cocktails, wine and whiskey.

    Located in the area in front of the gate of the Inner Shrine of Ise Jingu Shrine, LIttLe ItaLy is an Italian restaurant housed in a building with a charming exterior. It is a tiny establishment, with only five table seats and four counter seats, all of which must be reserved by the previous day, although reservations are accepted up to a month in advance. Only prix fixe meals are available for lunch, and they include main dishes such as pasta or chewy yet crisp pizza made with natural leavening agents, along with soup, a salad made of 24 items, and a beverage. Dinner is available only a la carte, but the menu lists about 100 types of dishes.

At dinnertime, Poni Anela transforms itself into a wine bar. Wine varieties and homemade small plate menu items are well-paired and available at reasonable prices. Spread across the eastern side of the Kii Peninsula, Mie prefecture boasts hundreds of kilometers of pretty coastline comprising the oyster-rich Toba city and Shima National Park all the way down to Kumano, a city that marks the beginning of part of the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage, which runs into neighboring Wakayama prefecture. However, Mie is best known for the Ise Jingu Shinto shrine inland, one of the oldest and largest shrines in the country.
