This ice cream shop is about a four-minute walk form Matsukaze-cho tram stop and located a little west on National Route 278, near Omori Park. It is a well-established shop, opening originally in 1947. The ice cream is also used by hotels and restaurants in the city and the old-fashioned flavor is loved by locals. The ice cream is simply packed and not mass-produced so as to provide freshly made ice cream. A wide range of flavors are available, ranging from traditional to those special to Hokkaido including summer only flavors such as Yubari Melon, tomato and sake lees.

This is a French patisserie located a 17-minute walk from Fukabori-cho tram stop, southeast of Hon-dori Park on the Hon-dori Central road. It is a well-established shop with four stores in Hakodate City. In the stores the kitchen is on display and visitors can see the cakes being made. The chefs use mainly Hokkaido local produce such as fresh eggs and butter, Mt. Komagatake pumpkin, milk, and Tokachi red beans. A popular sweet is the bite size easy to eat souffle cheesecake, Hakodate 'Mer-cheese'. It is also popular as a souvenir. In the cafe you can also enjoy parfait and soft serve ice cream.

Super yummy milk pudding, cheesecakes and the pumpkin pudding is exceptional too. A must try! Pair these with a nice cup of coffee and perhaps an ice cream afterwards to complete a lovely high-tea.

"This Japanese confectionery store was founded in Esashi town in 1870. The authentic ""Marukan-Yokan"", cut by a string, and ""Nagashi-Yokan"", are made with great care. It takes great skill to knead the beans, agar and sugar which begins early in the morning and takes all day. The shop is proud of its tradition and continues making products with the same, unchanging flavor. Other than yokan (sweet bean jelly), Monaka (red bean filled wafers) castella, and seasonal Japanese confectionary are available, and all make great gifts. The old-fashioned packaging is popular."

明治時代以前からあるお菓子の店で、江差名物の羊羹で有名。丸缶に入っているのが特徴だが一枚板になっているタイプもある。他にたい焼きのような鮭の形をしたあきあじ最中もある。今は函館市内や空港にも売っているのでわざわざ江差で買うほどでもないが、せっかく江差に来たらいにしえ街道から坂を上がって新地町まで行き、本店を訪れてみたい。

Opened in 1929, this long-standing cake shop began business as a restaurant and shop selling the Otaru specialty of panju, a mix of bread and manju (a bun with bean-jam filling). Now the shop specializes in selling cookies, creme caramel, baumkuchen (a German variety of cake) and other kinds of confectionary. Its signature product is the baked Marron Coron, famous also as a sweet from Hokkaido. In the cafe area on the second floor are wine red sofas where you can sit back and enjoy the fine sweets such as the popular cream zenzai (sweet red bean soup with ice cream), cakes and parfait all in the retro style surroundings of the Showa period. Traditional Japanese confectionary store in Toyako Town, Abuta County, Hokkaido that opened in 1923. Wakasaimo is a famous confectionary in the Lake Toya area for their specialty menu. Their white soybean paste has a unique mild sweetness similar to roasted sweet potato but without any potato. The first floor sells Japanese and Western style confections along with deep fried sweet potato, and the second floor is a Japanese restaurant.

This is the joint with the delicious 350yen soft serve ice cream with a delicious sweet potato biscuit. Must not miss this... It is a confectionery store as well.

This ice cream shop based in the facilities of Hakodate Milk, an ice cream manufacturer in Nakano Town, Hakodate City, Hokkaido, sells much of its ice cream from ice cream vans.
