A tour company which provides guided tours introducing the industry, natural beauty, and regional culture of the Rausu and Shiretoko area, a designated World Natural Heritage Site. The Shiretoko Peninsula Brown Bear Boat Cruise explores the Shiretoko Peninsula on a small boat; participants can listen to a guide well-versed in the plants and animals of the area while taking in the dynamic coastline, Kunashiri Island of the Kuril Islands, and the konbu kelp-rich sea. In early fall, you might also catch sight of salmon swimming upstream and the brown bears who come here during this time to eat them. The seafood lunch tour, which includes giving participants the chance to break open Ezo bafun-uni sea urchins before eating their meat with other tasty seafood delights, is particularly popular.

I did a few nature cruises in Shiretoko and this was the best for photographing bears as the smaller boat gets in closer to the shoreline.
