    Miyagi Katta-gun Zao Machi Togatta Onsen Nanokahara 251-4
    This specialty cheese dish restaurant is located inside Zao Dairy Center, along National Route 457, in Nanokahara Togattaonsen, Zao, Katta District. It uses cheese made by the adjacent cheese factory, and serves dishes such as pizza and cheese sandwiches. It also has a famous dish called Rakuronet, which is made by melting Zao Mozzarella cheese on a metal plate and served on top of bread.

    以前訪れた時に買った乳清ジャムが美味しかったので、また買いたいという友人の求めに応じて、青根温泉から15分ほどのところにあるチーズハウスを訪れた。開店と同時に乳清ジャムを買い、他の商品もいろいろ味見をしていると、あっという間に多くの客が訪れてチーズを買い漁っていました。

    This complex facility is located in front of the Matsushima Bay pleasure boat landing, along National Route 45, in Chonai Matsushima, Matsushima-cho, Miyagi District. The local specialty store on the first floor has the first Sanrio character goods store in the Tohoku region, and a bakery which has a very popular oyster curry bread. The second floor has a popular sushi restaurant called Orikono, which is also popular for its ginger grill. The third floor has a soba restaurant called Shouginan, which offers Matsushima specialty.

    松島海岸近くにある松島玉手箱館。ぶらぶら歩いていたらお店の人に誘われてつい中に、海産物などいろいろ焼いて食べることができます。

    This bakery is located on the first floor of the complex facility, Matsushima Tamatebako-kan, which is in front of the Matsushima Bay pleasure boat landing, along National Route 45, in Chonai Matsushima, Matsushima-cho, Miyagi District. It is famous for its oyster curry bread, which contains a whole oyster, and is a specialty of Matsushima. The zunda melon bread, made with zunda sweet green paste is also very popular.

    This Japanese confection shop is located in Matsushima Chonai, Matsushima Town, Miyagi County. It makes and sells Matsushima Koren rice crackers, which are said to have first been made by a nun from Matsushima’s Kannon-do Temple known as “Korenni” using rice offered to the temple as a form of charity. The technique for making this famous additive-free confection has been passed down to a single successor for 23 generations over 700 years. In addition to versions flavored with caster sugar and Wasonbon sugar, there is also a version flavored with healthier reduced maltose sugar.

    This venerable Japanese confection shop located in Funacho, Wakabayashi Ward, Sendai City was founded in 1885. It makes and sells a wide variety of Sendai Dagashi originating from the simplistic sweets made for children in the Sendai Domain. One such offering is usagidama, a confection made by kneading glutinous rice flour together with sweetened red bean paste, rice syrup, and brown sugar. Another is banchagashi, which is made by frying a braided wheat and starch syrup dough. The shop also features a small museum on the subject of Sendai Dagashi.

    旧・奥州街道をランニングで旅した際に立ち寄りました。川沿いに建つ趣のあるたてものがとても素敵です。そしてちょうど桜の季節だったのでお店の敷地から枝を広げる大きな桜の花を見る事が出来たのはとても幸運でした。店内では懐かしい駄菓子が並んでいて目移りしてしまいました。

    こじんまりとしただんご屋さんです。他につつみ揚げという揚げまんじゅうがあります。作並駅の近くにあるので、時間調整などにいいお店かもしれません。

    The headquarters, factory, and shop for the famous traditional Sendai sweet, Sanshoku Monaka, which resembles three spread fans each containing a different sweet bean paste. In the shop facing out at National Route 4 they sell primarily their flagship Sanshoku Monaka along with a variety of other Japanese-style sweets. Sanshoku Monaka, with its catchphrase of Eating One is as Tasty as All Three, was originally sold as three separate products. It's said the modern product came from a customer who couldn't decide between the three and asked if they could have a Monaka packed with all three bean pastes. The red bean paste made with Hokkaido Tokachi red beans, white bean paste made with Hokkaido Tokachi large otebo beans, and either a sesame or matcha green tea bean paste makes for an exquisite harmony that makes a fantastic present.

    Located on Itsutsubashi-dori Avenue at the entrance to Tohoku University, Murakamiya Mochiten is a long-established mochi shop dating back to 1877. The “zunda mochi” which makes use of Tohoku’s famous “zunda” is popular. They continue a method of careful work unchanged since the founding and reduction of sugar to bring out the original sweetness of zunda (mashed boiled green soybeans). Popular items include the three-colored mochi with three flavors: sesame, chestnut, and zunda. Additionally, sweet zunda of every fashion, like daifuku, kuzu-manju, and the summer-limited shaved ice “zunda milk” are popular.

    A confectionary shop established in the Meiji period offering a view of Matsushima Bay and the Godaido Temple. The shop’s signature item is its castella, carefully baked using select ingredients. The shop’s shaved ice, served only in summer in its café space, is also popular.

    Just had coffee and admired the super realistic plastic castella cake on display. Various cakes etc to eat in or takeaway. Beautiful young waitresses add to the enjoyment. Upstairs, so theres a view...
