    This Japanese kappo cuisine restaurant is a one-minute walk from Kannai Station and can also be reached by getting off at the Bashamichi bus stop and taking an immediate left followed by another left. The longstanding restaurant opened in 1872. The tatami room on the third floor can accommodate up to 40 people and can be reserved for parties, wakes, class reunions, and other events. Skillfully prepared kaiseki course cuisine is served on the third floor, while customers can enjoy eel rice bowls, yakitori chicken skewers, and other more casual dishes in the diner-style area on the second floor. The restaurant's ikadayaki baby eel skewers require an advance reservation. Originally an eel restaurant, the establishment still serves kabayaki broiled eel and unaju eel rice boxes, and these are also available for takeout.

The restaurant serves monkfish, a delicate variety of seafood whose flavor can easily become off if not extremely fresh, paying great attention to the freshness and preparation methods used. Menu selections include monkfish nabe hotpot, vinegared monkfish, and monkfish sashimi, a particular rarity. The restaurant also serves gozen meals which include dishes like tempura made with natto fermented beans from Mito, and squid and natto; as well as traditional kaiseki course meals made with seasonal ingredients such as Hitachi beef and common orient clams from the Kashima Sea.

The inn offers a wide selection of rooms, from shoin-zukuri style rooms built a hundred years ago to Western style rooms offering excellent rooms to even rooms which allow guests to stay with their pets. Depending on room occupancy, reservations for dinner only are accepted. The inn’s Kyoto style kaiseki course cuisine is truly the taste of tradition.
