Katsura Geku is a traditional-style Japanese restaurant located about a one-minute walk from JR Ise-shi Station along the approach to the Outer Shrine of Ise Jingu Shrine. It looks like an exclusive traditional eatery, but anyone can stop in without hesitation as a break from sightseeing. At lunch it serves two dishes that Mie Prefecture is famous for, Tekone Sushi (rice topped with fish that has been marinated in soy sauce) and Ise Udon (thick noodles topped with green onion and egg), along with its own original creations, such as Mikedon (a rice dish topped with seafood). All these meals can be enjoyed in a tatami room. Of course, the restaurant also serves standard prix fixe meals and a la carte items, including meals that feature Ise's famous Matsusaka beef, seasonal ingredients, Japanese spiny lobster, and other dishes paired with fine varieties of sake.

This restaurant is located a five-minute drive from the East Exit of JR Kuwana Station. Renovated from the Ryotei Ryokan Funatsuya that opened in 1875 in Kuwana-juku, one of the post towns in the 53 Stations of the Tokaido, they offer authentic Italian and kaiseki tea ceremony cuisine with an inherited ryotei (high-class Japanese style restaurant) taste. You can eat in the bright and open Garden Room with a spacious and retro modern atmosphere for lunch during weekdays. Dinner is served in a tasteful private room, and it is recommended for spending special days such as anniversaries while tasting a course of local Kuwana clams and Italian cuisine using vegetables direct from contract farmers and seasonal seafood.

"This traditional Japanese kappo cuisine restaurant is located in a former castle town area in Iga City. Boasting an elegant decor and relaxing atmosphere, the restaurant serves kaiseki course cuisine and eel cuisine made with an abundance of seasonal ingredients. The ""Tatsuta"" part of the restaurant's name is derived from the Tatsuta River in Nara Prefecture. The Tatsuta River is a renowned destination for fall foliage viewing, and the restaurant's emblem depicts fall foliage along the river. The restaurant carefully chooses the ingredients it uses, right down to the soy sauce and katsuobushi, and everything is plated according to the owner's unpromising aesthetic sense. The owner is also a sommelier and accordingly another appeal of this restaurant is its full selection of wines."

"This Japanese restaurant is located in a tranquil ninja village. Operated by a descendent of Fujihayashi Nagatonokami, one of the three great masters of Iga-ryu Ninjutsu, the restaurant itself is a ninja house filled with tricks, and serves modern arrangements of recipes from ancient ninja texts. It is said that ninjas ate balanced, healthy meals in order to avoid putting on excess weight. The restaurant's menu includes recreations of period ninja foods such as the filling Ninja no Manpuku-zen meal; the lunchtime Ninja no Hirumeshi; and Hyorougan, portable ""energy food pills"" once carried by ninja. Eat here and you'll feel like a ninja yourself! As the restaurant is reservation-only, you must call to make a reservation before coming."

Spread across the eastern side of the Kii Peninsula, Mie prefecture boasts hundreds of kilometers of pretty coastline comprising the oyster-rich Toba city and Shima National Park all the way down to Kumano, a city that marks the beginning of part of the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage, which runs into neighboring Wakayama prefecture. However, Mie is best known for the Ise Jingu Shinto shrine inland, one of the oldest and largest shrines in the country.
