    一度、食事したことがあるが、今回買い物のみです。由比地区は、昔から、イワシの削りぶしが昔から有名です。女房殿、かつお、イワシの削りぶしと、小生は、サクサク丸ごとイワシのツマミを、酒の友として購入しました。店舗は、食堂と魚貝加工場販売所魚貝も建屋が並んであり、駐車場は、観光バスが駐車できる大型駐車場完備。旧道沿いにありますので、注意されたし。

    Located in the parking lot next to the Higashi Izu Town Office, this morning market is held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday and on holidays. With fresh seafood such as the Inatori specialty of kinmedai (red bream), dried fish, processed marine products, just-harvested vegetables and seasonal fruits, patrons can buy local foodstuffs at lower prices than regular store prices. Local gourmet foods can be enjoyed on the spot and the kinmedai kama-meshi (a rice, red bream and vegetable dish served in a small pot) is popular. When you order it, they give you a free bowl of kinme arajiru (fishhead soup made with red bream). This is a popular place to get breakfast on a trip around Izu. The closest station is Izu-Inatori Station.

It sells fresh local vegetables, pickles handmade by local mothers, side dishes, specialties of Izu City, and more. The market's flagship product is their buttery shiitake croquettes, which are made with copious amounts of shiitake mushrooms. Another popular item is their wasabi green croquettes, a winter exclusive. We also recommend their sansai okowa rice balls, which are made with glutinous rice and lots of wild plants.
