This public park is situated along Tamazutsumi-dori Street and has wonderful views of the area. Some of the park's many highlights include facilities perfect for children such as the entrance square and a playground; the Setagaya Ward Tangible Cultural Property-designated Former Shimizu Family Residence Shoin; and the Kishin-en Garden, a traditional Japanese strolling garden built around a central pond. Note that the entire park is free but certain facilities close on certain days. The park also holds a variety of events for children.

Such an excellent location. Very accessible for families, especially children. Very active, even on cool spring days.

This metropolitan wild bird park is located a 15-minute walk from the Tokyo Monorail's Ryutsu Center Station, and is surrounded by the Wangan Road and the Metropolitan Expressway. This park was established because many wild birds came to the grasslands and ponds created during reclamation of the Tokyo Bay. "A strolling garden full of waterfalls and natural beauty located a 10-minute walk from Oji Station. Seven waterfalls known as the ""Seven Falls of Oji"" once existed in the area, but today of these only Nanushi Waterfall remains. Nanushi Waterfall is comprised of four parts - the eight-meter-tall Odaki, the Medaki, Dokkonotaki, and Yugyokunotaki. The garden's design skillfully incorporates the natural landscape, making use of slopes planted with more than 100 Japanese mountain maples, Japanese zelkovas, and beech trees. The garden is also famously known as a habitat for Heike fireflies and is the perfect place to go for a stroll and take in the changes of the season."

    Tokyo Shinjuku-ku Nishi-waseda 3-5
"This traditional Japanese strolling garden built around a central pond is the only one of its kind to be operated by Shinjuku Ward. The site was originally a villa belonging to the Shimizu-Tokugawa family, and the garden which you can visit today is the same one originally created for this estate. ""Kansenen"" literally translates to ""Sweet Spring Garden,"" a name it is said to have been given because the waters of the spring which wells up on the site are perfect for making delicious tea. Popular as a Japanese garden which is easily accessible, the grounds are overflowing with natural, seasonal beauty, including azaleas and hydrangeas, new spring greenery, and fall foliage. In a wintertime tradition in Shinjuku, staff employed by the ward erect stunning yukizuri rope cages, a Japanese horticulture technique designed to protect trees from heavy snows."

This municipal park is about 30 minutes by bus from JR Hachiko Line's Hakonegasaki Station at the western end of Tokyo Natural Park. The largest metropolitan park, it has a rich natural environment that preserves valuable rural scenery. Primarily consisting of deciduous forest with species like konara and sawtooth oak, the park provides the opportunity for woodland activities like hiking and bird watching. There are always beautiful natural views that change with the seasons. The park also has events and activities to help you enjoy the rural area. Many of them happen at an old-fashioned minka farmhouse that revives the architecture of the Edo period. It's a good place to take in the traditional Japanese rural landscape with its rice fields and brooks.

The setting of countless iconic movie scenes and the inspiration for songs, poetry, and literature worldwide, Tokyo barely requires an introduction.
