The park was opened in 1962 in commemoration of the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the Japanese railway. Trains that were actually used such as the D51 locomotive and the 0 Series Shinkansen are displayed in the park and material related to the railways, mainly models, are also displayed in the memorial hall next to the park. The mini SL Benkei is very popular among children.

A complex where you can enjoy the outdoors with your dog on an expansive Akigawa Hills site beside Tokyo Summer Land. It consists of a variety of fields with the idea of providing a place for people to spend time with their dogs while supporting and educating them about manners, nature, and the region. The dog runs are the largest in the Kanto area. They are made with oya stone, which doesn't get hot even in direct sunlight. A hiking course lets you get in touch with nature and the seasons and is covered with wood chips for the benefit of visitors and their dogs. Their cafe restaurant features local ingredients. Of course it's okay to bring your dog along.

Tokyo Areas

around-area-map

The setting of countless iconic movie scenes and the inspiration for songs, poetry, and literature worldwide, Tokyo barely requires an introduction. It’s hard for the kaleidoscopic neon lights, wacky pop culture, and some of the world’s tallest structures not to instill excitement in any first-time visitor to Tokyo, whether you’re in the very center of the hustle and bustle in Shinjuku or Shibuya or looking in from the quieter suburbs.
