    A national park located in Hitachinaka City in Ibaraki Prefecture. The spacious grounds, totaling some 200 hectares, are filled with huge flower gardens. The nemophila in summer and bassia in autumn are particularly attractive seasonal plants. When in bloom, the park’s 4.5 million blue nemophila seem to bleed into the sky, creating a stunning sight. The fluffy bassia in autumn turning the area scarlet. The park also has a cycling course and barbecue area, making a perfect place for the whole family to enjoy an entire day together.

    "A large park with spacious grounds spanning 25 hectares. The park encloses several historic structures, including the Nakayama Residence, a large farmhouse built in the mid-Edo period; and the Tobita Residence, the oldest ""magariya""-style building in the prefecture. The park is also a renowned destination for flower viewing, and some 1,500 flowering peach trees spanning five varieties grow on the grounds, in addition to a lotus pond in which grow Oga lotuses, an ancient lotus variety. The Koga Peach Festival is held at the park each year when the trees are in bloom, attracting many visitors who come to enjoy the beauty of the flowers."

    This historic park is located in Ishioka City, Ibaraki Prefecture. It features an observatory platform modeled to look like the head of a shishi (lion), a public square with a playground, and a waterfront park for enjoying flowers in all seasons, including cherry blossoms. For a fee, you can enter the excavated ruins recreated as Kanoko Ruins Park or the Square of Restored Ancient Homes, even checking the inside to see historical documents and artifacts on display. There is also a retail shop and a restaurant that serves ostrich meat from Ishioka City and Idaten soba. Soba-making classes are held here too.

    A park erected on the site of the Expo '85 international exposition. The 10-meter tall Kagaku no Mon gate commemorates the expo; modeled after the symbol tower of the Japanese government's exposition hall, it was built to one fourth scale of the original. The silver balls suspended inside the gate depict the faces of four famous scientists, depending on the angle of the viewer. The park is also a renowned destination for cherry blossoms, and in spring some 300 Yoshino cherries come into bloom on the grounds.

    初めて行ってみました。広くてびっくりです。奇麗に整備された公園があり、子供連れの方は楽しめると思います。ここでお野菜を買いましたが、にんじんは安く、多くのお野菜を安く買えます。いいところだと思います。 また、寄りたいです。

    茨城県立ミュージアムパークから遊歩道でつながっていました。釣り堀があり、子供連れで賑わっていました。小動物や鳥などもいて、気分が良かったです。今回は、残念ながら時間がなかったので、次回は、釣り堀にも行きたいと思います。

    This park, located about a 40-minute drive from the Chiyoda Ishioka Interchange or the Tsuchiura Kita Interchange off of the Joban Highway, has many various facilities. It not only has been designated as a Suigo-Tsukuba Quasi-National Park, but is also one of the Top 100 Ibaragi Sights, and the Top 100 Nature Scenes of Ibaragi Castle. Inside the park is an observatory from which a panoramic view of Lake Kasumigaoka, the second largest in Japan, can be enjoyed. The park has an aquarium, a history museum, the Ayumian meeting area, a garden of historic dwellings, a forested garden area as well as a lake-side shore area that is popular with families. The aquarium fosters not only the fresh water fish that swim in the Lake Kasumigaura, but also the seemingly phantom fresh water ito fish of the salmon family.

The park is designed like a little city, including a brick station building modeled after Amsterdam Station in the Netherlands, small crosswalks, and traffic lights. There's also a D-51 steam locomotive on display which was completed in September 1937 and which operated until 1975, making the park a popular destination not only for families but train fans as well.

    A park designated a Prefectural Historic Site encompassing the site of Sakasai Castle, a plains castle constructed in the late Warring States period. Built in 1577 by the Later Hojo clan to serve as a base for their expansion into northern Kanto, the castle was destroyed by the mighty samurai lord Toyotomi Hideyoshi in 1590 and abandoned. Today, the outer moat and portions of the castle base still remain in an untouched state. Castle facilities such as the main gate, bridge, walls, main building, and two-tier tower have been reconstructed in based on archeological excavations, showing what the castle looked like in its heyday and giving visitors the chance to feel like they've gone back in time. Some 200 cherry trees grow on the grounds, including Beni Sashima cherries, an endemic Ibaraki variety, and the park is a top local destination for viewing cherry blossoms in the spring.

    A park situated along National Route 205 a 20-minute drive from Hitachi-Daigo Station on the JR Suigun Line in Kuji County, Ibaraki Prefecture. Serving as a center for Okukuji tea, which began being cultivated in the area in the Edo period, the park has a 3,000 square meter tea field and tea house where visitors can enjoy an authentic tea ceremony. The park also offers activities like tea picking, tea ceremony classes, and soba noodle making. The adjoining Japanese paper doll Museum - So Yamaoka theater displays pieces by Japanese paper doll artist So Yamaoka.

    公営の施設です。2月のはじめ、いたるところにひな人形が飾られていて、それは見事な景観でした。これだけのひな飾りをすることが驚きです。山岡草和紙人形館の常設展示は雪がテーマでした。雪国で暮らすほっこり感が気持ちを温めてくれました。外では、フクジュソウが咲き始めています。春ですね。

    A nature park located on the eastern end of the Tsukuba Mountain Range in Suigo-Tsukuba Quasi-National Park. There are ponds and a wood deck in the park. Children can see nature up close, such as watching ducks and other visiting migratory birds from the provided observation room on Torinoike Pond. A hiking course leads up Mt. Yukiiri, and visitors can take in the area's seasonal beauty with forest walks and light trekking. The observatory in the center of the park provides a view of Lake Kasumigaura and the Ushiku Great Buddha. There's also a nature center which provides information on the park through exhibits such as a theater and a diorama of the forest on Mt. Yukiiri.

    雪入公園の駐車場に車を停めて、管理事務所のネイチャーセンターにトレッキングコースの地図を貰いに行って、2時間弱のトレッキングを楽しみました。 里山の景色と空気を吸って、とても良い1日を過ごしました。

    This park in Shizu, Naka City is on the hill on the west side of the Shizu-jinja Shrine grounds. It has different kinds of cherry trees, including about 2,000 of the double-flowered variety. Selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots, the park hosts the Yaezakura Festival starting in mid-April. You can enjoy the natural scenery in other seasons too that include early-spring plum blossoms, summer azaleas, and colorful autumn leaves.
