A nature-rich dog park surrounded by trees located south of the Tsutsuji-yama Field on the east side of Koganei Park. The dog park area has a lot of shade and is cool and comfortable even in the summer; there's a drinking fountain area for dogs and benches. It can also just be fun to come to Koganei Park, take a walk with your dog, and enjoy the various seasonal flowers which bloom here year round. The dog park consists of an area for small dogs, an area for medium and large dogs, and a play zone where dogs of all sizes can chase after balls and play with toys. Visitors must register to use the dog park, but once you are registered it is free to use. Registration can be conducted at the Koganei Park Service Center. Note that your dog must be on a leash while in Koganei Park.

A beautiful park any time of year but magnificent in spring where acres of cherry blossom trees are in bloom

    Tokyo Musashinoshi Gotenyama 1-18-31
Inokashira Park is a metropolitan park that straddles the boundary between Musashino City and Mitaka City in Tokyo. Opened in 1917, it was the first park of its kind in Japan to be located in the suburbs of a major city. The Park is close to the commercial districts of Mitaka and Kichijoji, and is situated very near to a railway station; as an “oasis” of greenery within the metropolis, it receives many visitors every day, not only from the immediate neighborhood but from other areas as well. There are street vendors (selling handmade goods, etc.) and street performers, giving the Park and the surrounding area a lively atmosphere. Inokashira Park is famous for the cherry trees (of the Somei Yoshino variety) that flower near the pond inside the Park in spring; it is ranked among the Top 100 best places in Japan to view cherry blossom.

  • Fuchu no Mori Park
    Leisure / Hobbies
    Tokyo Fuchu-shi Sengencho 1-3-1
This park was designed with the idea of improving the lives of local residents, the necessity of exercise facilities, and its functionality as a disaster evacuation site in mind. A family-oriented sports park with forest, hills, and waterside areas, its vast grounds encompass a baseball ground, tennis courts, and a soccer field among a full array of other facilities. There's also a reservation-required barbecue ground, shop, and restaurant, and the park is frequented by families with children. Situated in the almost exact center of Fuchu City a 10-minute walk from Higashifuchu Station on the Keio Line, the grounds are planted with some 3,500 sawtooth oaks and Japanese zelkovas, and the park is a space for rest and relaxation where visitors can take in the four seasons.

  • Musashino Chuo Park

    Tokyo Musashino-shi Yahatacho 2
A metropolitan park built around a large open field and sports ground. The park is situated in between Inokashira Park to the east and Koganei Park to the west. The site was once used as a residential area for the US military but was later reborn as a park in 1989 after requests made by local residents over many years grew stronger. One of only a few parks in Tokyo primarily built around a large open field, many friends and families come here to lay a tarp in the shade of the park's large trees and have lunch. Thanks to this large field, the park is also known as a mecca for paper airplane lovers to fly their creations.

Tokyo Areas

around-area-map

The setting of countless iconic movie scenes and the inspiration for songs, poetry, and literature worldwide, Tokyo barely requires an introduction. It’s hard for the kaleidoscopic neon lights, wacky pop culture, and some of the world’s tallest structures not to instill excitement in any first-time visitor to Tokyo, whether you’re in the very center of the hustle and bustle in Shinjuku or Shibuya or looking in from the quieter suburbs.
