Tokyo Port Wild Bird Park
This metropolitan wild bird park is located a 15-minute walk from the Tokyo Monorail's Ryutsu Center Station, and is surrounded by the Wangan Road and the Metropolitan Expressway. This park was established because many wild birds came to the grasslands and ponds created during reclamation of the Tokyo Bay. Around 120 species including waterbirds such as sandpipers, plovers and ducks, small birds and goshawks visit every year, and 227 species of wild birds have been spotted since the park opened. The 36-hectare site is a precious habitat for wild birds in Tokyo bustling with wild birds and waterside creatures.
