    Sanbane Hachijo-cho Tokyo, Tokyo
The beach is located on Hachijojima Island, which is said to be the closest tropical island to Tokyo. Having the only artificial sand beach on the island, it is the most popular bathing beach on Hachijojima Island. Shower rooms, changing rooms, and restrooms are provided, and there is also a campground nearby for families. During the bathing season, beach houses are open, offering a variety of food and beverage menu items, including the popular ramen and shaved ice. Also famous as a diving spot, you can snorkel and see coral reefs and schools of fish. You might see sea turtles if you are lucky.

Small beach easy to access. I didnt enter the water so I can not say much but the view of this place was very good and the water looks good.

    Niijima-mura, Tokyo
A seven kilometer long stretch of coastline known for its distinctive white gate, the Habushiura Coast is also a swimming beach and byword for the island of Niijima. Thanks to its high quality waves, the coast is also a famous and popular destination for surfing. The white sands of the beach and emerald blue of the ocean are sure to enchant.

    Motomachi, Oshima-machi, Tokyo
A swimming beach on the west side of the island of Izu Oshima in Moto-machi, Oshima Town, Tokyo. Located close to Motomachi Harbor, the island's entranceway, Kobohama Beach is the busiest beach on the island. In addition to showers, changing rooms, and beachside clubhouses, there's also a free pool at the beach.

    Kozushima Village, Tokyo
A swimming beach on the island of Kozushima. Extending a kilometer away from Port Kozushima, the white sands of the beach set off the marine blue of the ocean. The beach boasts very clear waters and is the only beach in Tokyo to be ranked excellent according to a water quality survey. The closest beach to the residences on the island and within walking distance of guesthouses as well, the beach is a convenient place to enjoy swimming, snorkeling, and other marine sports. The beach is situated on the west side of the island and is a spectacular place to watch the sun set into the sea.
  • Mamashita Beach

    Tokyo Niijimamura Mama
This beach is located on the southwest side of Niijima Island, one of the Izu Islands. One of the beach's draws is its sweeping view encompassing gorgeous Torigashima Island connected to the beach by a sandbar, as well as Shikinejima Island and Kozushima Island. Also notable for its highly clear ocean water, the beach is a great place to go snorkeling. Visitors are recommended to purchase food and drink in advance as there are no shops close to the beach. A nearby hot spring bathhouse, however, offers hot sand baths in addition to regular baths. The wide open beach has no shade and bringing a parasol, etc. is a good idea.
  • Ishijirogawa Beach
    Leisure / Hobbies
    Tokyo Niijimamura Shikinejima
A beach located right next to an urban area on the east side of Shikinejima Island, one of its draws is its convenient accessibility from nearby inns. The site of an Edo period salt panning sight, and Daio Shrine, popular sightseeing destinations, are also close by. Here visitors can enjoy snorkeling and diving; in addition, when the tide is low, you can see a variety of creatures in the tide pools which form. The waters of the white sand beach are clear and the waves are gentle, making the beach a safe place to play and swim, as well. Visitors are recommended to enjoy the beach along with the nearby campground.
  • Tomari Beach

    Tokyo Niijimamura Shikinejima
A beach located a five-minute walk from Nobushi Port on the north side of the Shikinejima Island. The distinctive almost round-shaped cove is surrounded by shore. The waters off the beach are clear and shallow, making this a great place to bring the kids. Note that swimming out beyond the natural bay enclosing the beach is prohibited. Small fish and other sea creatures can be seen swimming in the bay. In the summer, a lifeguard is stationed on the beach and a shop also opens up onsite.
  • Maehama Beach

    Tokyo Niijimamura Motomura
This beach is located not far from the Honson district, an area on the west side of Niijima Island with many inns. The beautiful, four-kilometer-long white sand beach has clean, clear water and has been selected for inclusion in the 88 Best Swimming Beaches in Japan list. The beach is also close to Niijima Port and its convenient accessibility is one of its draws. The beach is replete with toilet and shower facilities. In the summer, sunshades and floating islands are set up; the beach's waves are also gentle, making this a great place to come with children. The beach's stunning sunsets are also a must-see.

Tokyo Areas

around-area-map

The setting of countless iconic movie scenes and the inspiration for songs, poetry, and literature worldwide, Tokyo barely requires an introduction. It’s hard for the kaleidoscopic neon lights, wacky pop culture, and some of the world’s tallest structures not to instill excitement in any first-time visitor to Tokyo, whether you’re in the very center of the hustle and bustle in Shinjuku or Shibuya or looking in from the quieter suburbs.
