    This campground sprawls on the shore of Lake Hyugashiiba, selected for inclusion in the Top 100 Dam Lakes of Japan list compiled by the Water Resources Environment Center. Amidst the campgrounds vast, beautiful scenery, facilities include cottages, an obstacle course, and a firewood-heated goemonburo bath. Surrounded by nature, the campground is a still and quiet space and is situated in a superb location away from the hustle and bustle of the everyday. As staying the night requires an advance reservation, prospective customers must contact the campground in advance.
  • Yatate Kogen Campground

    This campground is situated on the border between Miyazaki Prefecture and Kumamoto Prefecture. Located on a highland commanding a view of Mt. Ichifusa, facilities include cottages, an auto camping site, a hot shower room, and event square. Far away from private homes, the campground is enwrapped in a quiet, still atmosphere, and is a space where visitors can relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of the everyday. A stream runs nearby where visitors can enjoy water fun and fishing. The view of the sky is also uninterrupted here, making it the perfect place for stargazing and astronomical observation.
  • West Shosoin Temple/Kudara no Yakata

    This museum was erected to preserve valuable cultural treasures, including those belonging to the Nara Shosoin Temple. The museum is an exact recreation of the Nara Shosoin based on blueprints and was created with cooperation from the Imperial Household Agency. Exhibits include a Tang dynasty bronze mirror which was excavated from the pedestal of the Great Buddha Hall at the Nara Todaiji. Visitors can come in contact with the history of the royalty of the Korean kingdom of Bakeje, who lived here in ancient times. In the adjoining Bakeje hall, visitors van view a life-sized recreation guesthouse which stands on the site of the royal palace in Buyeo. The museum also displays replicas of important cultural properties and national treasures from the Bakeje era.
  • Mizushidani Furusato Village Auto Campground

    This auto camping site sprawls along the valley which follows the pure waters of the Mizushidani River in Nango. Enshrouded in abundant natural beauty, the grounds are replete with nine auto camping sites. The Kaigonto garden, planted with some 5,000 plum trees, is located nearby, and in most years visitors can enjoy the flowering trees around late February. Visitors can also fish yamame trout and minnows in the Mizushidani River. The campground is 50 minutes from the Hyuga Interchange on the Higashikyushu Expressway. The campground is open year round, but prospective customers must make an advance reservation.
  • Mihokogaura Beach

    This swimming beach is located 15-minute drive from the Hyuga Interchange on the Higashikyushu Expressway. Shallow across its length, the beach is a place where families with children can play in safety. The beach also experiences light waves and is visited by large numbers of people come to go clamming. In addition, the beach is the perfect place to go standup paddleboarding, which involves standing on a surfboard and paddling with an oar to move.

    This auto camping site is located inside Hyuga Sun Park, a comprehensive recreation facility which is itself located inside Nippo Kaigan Quasi-National Park. The compact grounds are replete with auto camping sites with AC outlets, cottages, and log tents. There's also a hot spring bathhouse, restaurant, roadside station, and sports facilities, and customers rave that here you can enjoy a wide variety of fun things to do. In addition, the campground offers a full array of rental equipment such as barbecue grill sets, table and chair sets, sleeping bags, and electric kettles.

    This swimming beach has been awarded five stars in each of the categories of water quality, facilities, and scenery, and it is said its waters are some of the clearest in Miyazaki Prefecture. Encircled by the natural beauty of rocks and forest, the beach has also been selected for inclusion in the Top 100 White Sand Beaches and Green Pine Groves of Japan and the Selection of Best 100 Beach lists compiled by the Ministry of the Environment. Another great thing about the beach is that it is outfitted with toilets, changing rooms, and shower rooms. The beach bustles during swimming season and year-round with people enjoying surfing and bodyboarding.
  • Cape Hyuga Green Park

    This park is located a 15-minute drive from Hyugashi Station. Situated halfway up 192-meter-tall Mt. Komenoyama, the park boasts a 2.6 hectare grass lawn and offers a sweeping view of the deep blue Sea of Hyuga. An outdoor music dome is located in the park and is used to host events on weekends and holidays. As the mountain is also used as a paragliding practice ground, if you're lucky you may get to see paragliders taking off from the peak.
  • Okuragahama Beach

    This beach was selected for inclusion in the Japan's 100 Best Beaches list. The beach extends four kilometers north to south and consists of a continuous stretch of white sands and green pines. A swimming beach sprawling at the southern end is a renowned mecca for marine sports in Hyuga and is visited by large numbers of surfers from across the prefecture and beyond throughout the year. The area is also the only place in Japan where pieces for the Japanese game of go are made using common orient clam shell, and the white go pieces which are made from the beach's orient clams, known as Suwabute clams, are highly valued. Happily, the beach is replete with free parking, hot water showers, and toilets.
  • Odotsu Beach

    This beach is encircled by Oshima Island, Izakibana, and Kokuzo Island. Made up of a large cove, the beach experiences waves which are extremely gentle. Selected for inclusion in the Selection of Best 100 Beach list, the beach's pure white crinum and coastline further enhance its south seas atmosphere.

The domed garden is located at the highest point on the grounds of the Miyazaki Agricultural Research Institute and is divided into themed areas such as the ""Jungle Cruise"" area, a thick forest of banana trees and Chinese palm fans; and the ""Rock Mountain"" area, a towering rocky mountain on which cacti grow. The surrounding Miyazaki Agricultural Research Institute promotes revolutionary technological advancements in order to open the doors to new ways of agriculture and engages in a variety of research projects throughout the year."

    "Located about 5 minutes by car from JR Kitago Station, this strawberry farm is open from January 2 to mid-May every year and grows five varieties of strawberries: ""Sagahonoka"" with its refreshing sweetness, ""Yayohime"" with its high sugar content, ""Red Pearl"" which is a rare variety, ""Koiharuka"" which is Miyazaki Prefecture's original variety, and ""Hoshi no Kirameki"" which landed in Kyushu for the first time. All the strawberries are grown in plastic greenhouses, so you can enjoy strawberry picking regardless of the weather."

    バンガローに一泊してゆっくり過ごしました(オートキャンプ場もあり)。温泉や温水プールもあり、満喫できました。一泊するなら、温泉・プールの1日間を購入した方がお得です。ロビーでは、惣菜等も販売してあり、何も持ってこなくても過ごすことが可能です。

    日本オートキャンプ協会公認の四ツ星キャンプ場。オートキャンプに最適なフリーサイトとは別に、キャビンエリアもありました。キャビンは、キッチン、洋式トイレ、シャワー、エアコン、冷蔵庫などを完備する 贅沢さでした。ふれあい広場はひろびろでいろんな遊びが楽しめます。花火専用サイト、木製遊具もあり、お子供連れのファミリーキャンプにピッタリです。

    油津市街からカープ1本道と言う路面に広島カープカラーである赤色に塗装されたルートがありました。辿っていくと天福公園の前にある天福球場に着きました。楽しかったです。

An unmissable highlight of Kyushu, Miyazaki prefecture satisfies nature lovers with its dramatic gorges cut out of rugged cliffs, leading into waterfalls and beaches of green-blue water popular among surfers.
