In addition to standard plain, Seifudo sells a variety of castella flavors, including cheese, chocolate, and Earl Grey (all popular with students on school strips and women). The shop’s frozen castella, only available from fall to spring, has a more mature flavor that goes great with wine.

    小浜温泉の足湯近くにあるケーキ屋さんで、ショーケースにいろんなケーキがありました。パンもおいしく、とくにクロワッサンがさくさくでおいしかったです。お土産にいちごのバームクーヘンを買いましたが、それもおいしかったです。

    食べ歩き用のお菓子の購入で寄ってみました。表の看板では九十九島せんぺいが代表的なお菓子のようですが、私自身はチーズの入ったお菓子の方が合いました。またHANAKAGOというお菓子も柔らかく、甘いお菓子です。店員さんも丁重でした。

    とても美味しい! 甘すぎて重い福砂屋のカステラよりも断然うまい。福砂屋は高いだけで一口食べたらオエッとなる。ブランドだけでイマイチ。それにくらべて和泉屋さんのは美味しさを追求した何度も買って食べたくなるカステラ。お土産やプレゼントにはここのカステラがおすすめです。
