- Kyoto Kyoutoshi Nishikyou-ku Katsuratatsumichou 4
- A shop which makes and sells sesame seed oil located in the Katsuratatsumi-cho, neighborhood of Nishikyo Ward. Still using the same production method utilized when the shop was founded, Yamada sells additive-free sesame seed oil by weight, slowly prepared using a firewood furnace. The shop also sells oil cakes leftover from the oil making process and eggs from chickens fed on the same. On clear Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, the shop opens a small market stand out front selling sesame sweets and vegetables.

Kyoto Areas
Its wooden tea houses, shuffling geisha, and spiritual sights have seen Kyoto hailed as the heart of traditional Japan, a world apart from ultramodern Tokyo. Despite being the Japanese capital for over a century, Kyoto escaped destruction during World War II, leaving behind a fascinating history which can be felt at every turn, from the fully gold-plated Kinkakuji Temple down to traditional customs such as geisha performances and tea ceremonies, which are still practiced to this day.
