This ice cream shop is directly operated by Katahira Jersey Shizen Bokujo. The shop is located just off the Ryozen-Iitate Interchange of the Tohoku Chuo Expressway and sells ice cream that makes use of the nutrition and flavor of Jersey milk as it is. The most popular soft-serve ice cream is made from Jersey milk, which accounts for less than one percent of the domestic milk supply. The smooth, rich and thick milk flavor is a prized taste that is loved by everyone from children to adults. In addition to basic milk, fresh ingredients are added to the ice cream, and there are always about 20 flavors of ice cream available, including chocolate chip, green tea, rum raisin and blueberry.

    とても美味しいジェラート屋さんです。人気のお店で、朝から賑わっていました。ミニサイズ(220円)をいただきましたが、十分なボリュームです。チョコ味も濃厚でした。

A confectionary shop located in Aizuwakamatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture. The shop is also famous for making delicious sweets based on recipes from cookbooks written in Aizu Domain during the Edo period. The shop's primary focus, however, is creative handmade sweets, such as the Castella An Aizu Aoi, a soft and delicate cake on Portuguese castella imported long ago to Japan made with plenty of eggs and filled with strained sweet bean paste. These tasty treats are popular both to give take home as souvenirs and to give as gifts.

Fukushima Pref. Minamiaidugunshimogoumachi Ouchi Yamamoto 33
A minshuku traditional Japanese bed and breakfast located Shimogo Town, Minamiaizu County, Fukushima Prefecture which has been in businesses for some 300 years since the Edo period. Visitors are sure to enjoy the minshuku's charming thatched roof building as well as its kiritanpo nabe toasted rice ball hotpot, char broiled around an old-fashioned irori sunken hearth, and other traditional Japanese cuisine. The facility also has a cafe as well as a souvenir shop selling Aizu-hongo ware tableware and a wide variety of other Aizu crafts and goods.

This is one of (I think) 3 minshuku on the main street in Ouchijuku. Meaning youre sleeping in a thatched roof house in the middle of this old-timey village. The inn itself is a bit hard to find...

This Aizu miso and soy sauce factory has been operating in Aizu for over 100 years. It has continued to produce such products as Kintakasago Soy Sauce and Tsurugajo Miso, which are indispensable to the dining tables of Aizu to this day. Their signature product Kintakasago Soy Sauce is a popular product that has won the highest Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award at the National Soy Sauce Evaluation Competition. Tsurugajo Miso, which uses a lot of rice malt made from domestic Japanese rice, is characterized by its pale color and slightly sweet taste. Nishin Sansho-zuke, made with dried herring processed in Hokkaido and marinated in a secret sauce, and additive-free fresh shichimi seven spice mix, also make great gifts.

    Fukushima Onuma-gun Kaneyamamachi Tamanashi
A tofu shop in the Kaneyama and Tamanashi area, Oku-Aizu, still considered to be an unexplored region. They offer authentic handmade tofu made with Oku-Aizu Centennial Water that springs from deep within the mountains. Their fresh tofu, made with carefully selected locally grown green soybeans and bittern gathered from natural salt fields, has a vibrant top-quality flavor that gradually exposes the sweetness of the soybeans in your mouth. The shop is located within a kominka-style Japanese residence and you can enjoy their Tamanashi Gozen Meal which comes with Yose Tofu (soft tofu), Namaage (deep-fried tofu), Okara (tofu dregs), and donuts. Alongside their handmade tofu which can't be had anywhere else they also offer soy milk soft-serve ice cream and tofu dregs donuts so many people stop by while driving.

    Fukushima Minamiaizu-gun Minamiaizumachi Seki
This shop manufactures and sells processed foods made with foraged ingredients such as edible wild vegetables and mushrooms as well as a number of regional dishes of the Aizu region. The shop makes its products in the old-fashioned way, sparing no effort in order to carefully preserve the inherent flavors of the ingredients. We recommend their Yamaudo Abura-itame, which consists of fried and seasoned mountain asparagus, a wild plant known for its unique fragrance and slight bitterness. We also recommend their Fukinoto Miso, which consists of young giant butterbur shoots blended with Aizu country-style miso paste.

Fukushima Fukushima-shi Onami Hoshi No Miya 32
This pickle shop sells pickles inspired by an anecdote from more than 700 years ago. Their traditionally-flavored products are made by thoroughly lactic acid fermenting ingredients collected at peak seasonality in-house using old fashioned techniques that have largely fallen out of favor. The shop's most popular product is their Tochanzuke. These spicy garlic and soy sauce-pickled cucumbers, which are accented with finely-chopped daikon radish, are made with cucumbers and Egoma leaves grown locally in Fukushima.
