This local products center is situated along National Route 327. The center sells local specialty products such as roasted rice cakes, Tsurutomi miso, and yuzu citrus chili paste. The center's adjoining restaurant serves meals made with local ingredients. The restaurant's popular sticky and uniquely chewy handmade soba noodles, limited to just 20 customers a day, are crafted with buckwheat flour from Shiba which is only produced in exceedingly small amounts and not normally sold in stores. The restaurant's fried rice is made with harlequin glorybower leaves, which release a fragrant scent when rubbed and which have a distinctive, addicting flavor similar to Japanese giant red mustard.

"Maseda atsuyaki are a type of Japanese omelet which was perfected by Maseda Kouemon, a vassal of Obi domain, thanks to a special technique which cooks the omelet both from below and above. Also known as ""onabeyaki"" and ""onabe atsuyaki,"" this restaurant has been making this traditional dish, generation after generation, since 1689. The omelets, which take time to cook utilizing the unique preparation method, have a mild, sweet flavor almost like a dessert. It is said they were so delicious, the omelets were even presented to the lords of Obi domain as official gifts. The omelets must be cooked according to a laborious process in order to give them their pudding-like texture and thus only a very few can be made each day. Making an advance reservation will ensure you will be able to enjoy one of these tasty treats."

An unmissable highlight of Kyushu, Miyazaki prefecture satisfies nature lovers with its dramatic gorges cut out of rugged cliffs, leading into waterfalls and beaches of green-blue water popular among surfers. Takachiho Gorge in the north of the prefecture tells a tale of centuries-old Japanese mythology in a fantastic setting, allowing visitors to explore the waters by boat before heading up to the cave at the Awano Iwato Shrine, where the sun goddess was said to have hidden, plunging the world into darkness.
