This cafe and sundries shop offers handcrafted items from the Atami region and beyond and is stocked with a full selection of baked sweets. Its popular Kogashi Ring donuts, which are supplied to nearby Kinomiya Shrine, are accented by the scent of parched-barley flour and fill your mouth with refined sweetness.

This shop located inside Ito Marine Town offers a full range of Ito souvenirs including seafood and dried fish. Of all their popular products, such as their grilled shishamo smelt and braised fatty tuna, their most popular item is their iso kimchi. These pickled shellfish in a kimchi-style sauce are great as a topping for a bowl of rice or as a snack to go with drinks.

"Located about 7 minutes on foot from Izu-kogen Station on the Izu Kyuko Line, this café and atelier offers a hands-on experience of making authentic silver jewelry by hammering a flat sheet of silver into shape. The ""mixed berry parfait"" with plenty of strawberries and blueberries is highly recommended."

Shizuoka Areas

around-area-map

With the giant Pacific Ocean to the south and the great Mount Fuji to the north, Shizuoka prefecture is blessed with some of the best views the country has to offer. The white sand beaches of the Izu Peninsula are a rare find on mainland Japan, neighbored by beautiful cliffs, tumbling hills, and natural hot springs. As Japan’s largest producer of green tea, the age-old tradition of tea drinking is ubiquitous in Shizuoka, from the miles of tea fields to the old tea houses hosting traditional tea ceremonies.
