Shizuoka Pref. Itoushi Yukawa 571-19 Ito Marine Town Bazaar Building 1F
This shop located inside Ito Marine Town offers a full range of Ito souvenirs including seafood and dried fish. Of all their popular products, such as their grilled shishamo smelt and braised fatty tuna, their most popular item is their iso kimchi. These pickled shellfish in a kimchi-style sauce are great as a topping for a bowl of rice or as a snack to go with drinks.

It has as many as 30 types of dried fish including local fish from Sagami Bay and Suruga Bay. As it also sells rare seafood snacks and well-known confectionery, it is a good place to choose a souvenir.

Shizuoka Areas

around-area-map

With the giant Pacific Ocean to the south and the great Mount Fuji to the north, Shizuoka prefecture is blessed with some of the best views the country has to offer. The white sand beaches of the Izu Peninsula are a rare find on mainland Japan, neighbored by beautiful cliffs, tumbling hills, and natural hot springs. As Japan’s largest producer of green tea, the age-old tradition of tea drinking is ubiquitous in Shizuoka, from the miles of tea fields to the old tea houses hosting traditional tea ceremonies.
