Yamanashi Pref. Minamikomagunminobuchou Uenotaira 1787 ahead
Minobu Town is a place with many cultural heritage sites, but none have a bigger historical significance than the Yu-no-oku gold mine ruins. This museum exhibits a collection of unearthed articles, materials related to the gold mine, historical documents on gold mining, and more. Visitors can enjoy learning about the world of gold mining during Japan's middle ages and Warring States period through the museum's video theater, dioramas, exhibit halls, hands-on gold panning activity, and more.

Tells a version of the history of gold mining in Japan, and its production methods from laborious hand-crushing onwards. Very little English-language signage, but the displays were still interesting...

    Yamanashi Pref. Minamikomagunfujikawachou Kajikazawa 2175
This scenically beautiful park spreads across the side of Mt. Oboshi in the southwestern tip of Kofu Basin. It offers a view of Mt. Fuji and the Fuji River, the Kofu Basin, the Yatsugatake Mountains, and beyond. The park's more than 2,000 cherry blossom trees, including Sato-zakura cherry and weeping cherries, earned it a spot on the Japan Cherry Blossom Association's list of the country's 100 best cherry blossom viewing spots. The park holds the Oboshi Sakura Festival during the annual bloom season that is attended by large crowds of people.

This park is on top of a hill, it's preferable to travel by car. Be frank, it is probably not special at all except in the cherry blossom season, so we visited the park during the cherry blossom...

Yamanashi Nishiyatsushiro-gun Ichikawamisato Cho Ueno 3158

Yamanashi Minamikoma-gun Minobucho Kita Kawa 2855

Yamanashi prefecture is the proud home of one of Japan's most celebrated icons: Mount Fuji. Although the mountain straddles both Yamanashi and Shizuoka, the most breathtaking views of Fuji-san can be seen from the Fuji Five Lakes north of the mountain in Yamanashi prefecture.
