    A long-standing sake brewery in Takehara City, Hiroshima Prefecture. It is famous as the birthplace of Taketsuru Masataka, the father of Japanese whisky. Available for purchase here are special sakes that can’t be bought anywhere else. This location has drawn lots of fans and tourists after being used as the model location for an NHK drama.

    竹原駅から徒歩15分ほど。 町並み保存地区のメイン通りに面して立つ酒蔵。1733年創業。ニッカウヰスキーの創業者・竹鶴政孝の生家として有名。入口の戸にPayPayのシールが貼られていたので酒は販売していると思われるが、「当所の見学はできません」という張り紙が「中に入ったら必ず何か買えよ」と威圧しているようで入店は諦めた。

    酒蔵通りから線路側に1本入った通り沿いにある。 大正6年(1917年)創業。店内にはコイン式の有料試飲機がある。カウンターでコイン(1枚100円)を購入すると、そのコインで1杯(30ml)試飲できるようになっている。

    ７つの酒蔵が建ち並ぶ西条の酒蔵通り。その中間あたりの道路沿いに、亀齢酒造がありました。 こちらの「亀齢」というお酒は、長寿と繁栄の願いが込められたネーミングなんだとか。敷地内には、こちらの蔵の直売所「万年亀舎（まねきや）」があり、試飲できるんですよ。

    Serayume Park, located in Sera Town, Sera County, Hiroshima Prefecture, is a park comprised of Sera Prefectural Citizens’ Park, a park area capitalizing on the natural beauty of this plateau area; and Sera Winery, a tourism-oriented winery which makes wine from local grapes. Sera Prefectural Citizens’ Park is the perfect place for a casual picnic and has a spacious grass lawn for playing sports with the family, a playground, and a nature observation garden. At Sera Winery, you can learn about the wine making process and sample the facility’s wines. There’s also a wine shop, restaurant, foot bath, and miniature SL trains, making Serayume Park a fun-filled destination for the whole family.

    世羅ワイナリーで葡萄ジュースにワインの試飲ができ、バーベキューにハンバーグなどが食べれて、足湯やミニＳＬもあるので家族で楽しめるところです。

    This by reservation only factory tour facility is located in Takehara City, Hiroshima Prefecture. This is where you can experience making jam and go on a factory tour and taste jam in the refurbished old Aohata factory. In addition, it has an adjoining jam shop and Jam Deck cafe, and is visited by many tourists.

    This is a small sake brewery established in 1912 located in Saijyouoka Town, Higashihiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture. The numerous high quality sakes brewed using the local soft water including the Sourin Nama, have a refreshing and refined distinctive taste. In the premises there is a whole-sale store and the company’s brand sake and sake-ware are sold. The five-sake set which has five main quality sakes included to compare the taste, is a popular souvenir. The traditional Japanese style restaurant Kappo Shinsuke also operates in a renovated sake cellar.

    事前に調べた結果、賀茂鶴や白牡丹など有名で百貨店でに出ていたりしますが、山陽鶴酒造は百貨店に出ないし好きなにごりがあったので行ってみました。お目当てのお酒はありましたが、試飲するのに有料ですしたね。それも有料という量ではなく試飲程度の量でした。買わないと思われたのでしょうか？？お目当てのお酒は好みの味で美味しいのに飲程度の量でお金取るとは…。今回は買いましたが、次回西条に行っても寄らないでしょう。

    A winery located in Miyoshi City, Hiroshima Prefecture, a city famed for its grape production. The winery ferments and sells delicious varieties of wines made possible by local grapes grown with the clean and tasty waters of the area’s three rivers. Visitors are free to view the winery’s underground wine cellar, lined with wooden casks. The winery also has materials regarding the work that goes into a grape farm and the wine production process, giving visitors the chance to learn about the winery’s dedication to winemaking. There’s also a shop, sampling corner, and café on the grounds. In the winery’s barbecue garden, you can enjoy wine together with vaunted Hiroshima wagyu beef.

    Come take a tour at the Yamadaya factory in Hatsukaichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture, where they make the famous Hatsukaichi souvenir confection, the momiji-manju (maple leaf-shaped bun filled with red bean paste). As part of the tour you’ll receive explanations from momiji-manju sommelier as well as being able to watch the manufacturing process. Please call at least three days prior to make a reservation for the tour.

    Founded in 1675 by a descendent of Shima Sakon (Kiyo-oki), retainer to Ishida Mitsunari, is a distinguished, longstanding brewery that currently operates five warehouses. It uses traditional methods to produce sake with a sweet taste compared to other Hiroshima sake. It has many other brand-name sake as well with a deep flavor and a pleasing finish, which are loved not only by locals but also intellectuals. There’s an exhibit room where visitors can see the earthenware jars used to store the sake and vats for brewing, as well as letters and illustrations by Shiko Munakata, who created the white camellia label. Visitors can also sample some sake and purchase items exclusively available at the brewery. The nearest station is Saijo Station.

    This sake brewery is the only one in Etajima City and is famous for making the Doki no Sakura sake brand. The company was established in 1907 and has continued to make high quality sakes using underground spring water from sacred Mt. Furutaka since that time. Doki no Sakura, a product the company has poured its passion and love into, was called “Homare” before World War II and was a favorite of naval academy staff as one of the varieties officially supplied to the Imperial Navy. Customers rave about its medium-dry flavor and rich rice aroma. The Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force First Service School (formerly the Naval Academy) is located a five-minute walk away, and many tourists make sure to check out the facility along with the brewery.

There is more than meets the eye awaiting any Hiroshima-bound traveler. Kicking off in Hiroshima city, the Peace Memorial Park, Hiroshima Castle, and Shukkeien Garden offer a couple of days of exploring; however, the real beauty lies along the southern coast of the prefecture. There, a series of islands spreads across the Seto Inland Sea: from the mysterious sea-submerged Great Torii Gate at Miyajima Island to the first half of the islands that connect Honshu to Shikoku via six spectacular suspension bridges.
