  • Hyogo Park of the Oriental White Stork

    The Oriental white stork is an endangered species and this park and research facility conducts breeding initiatives to help their recovery in the wild. A portion of the site is open to the public, including its Toyooka Municipal Museum of the Oriental White Stork with displays on stork ecology and the regional environment. There's also a breeding area open to the public, a biotope, and nature trails. The park is in Nigatani, Shounji, Toyooka City.
  • Genbudo Cave (Genbudo Park)

    "A National Natural Monument-designated cave located in Genbudo Park along Prefectural Route 548 in Akaishi, Toyooka City. The cave is notable for the narrow, regular ridges from which it is formed, created when magma flowing from a volcano which erupted 1.6 million years ago cooled. Formed of innumerable lines of basalt, the cave's name is derived from the Japanese word for basalt-""genbugan."" The nearby Genbudo Museum provides information about the cave and also contains mineral and fossil exhibits."
  • Minami Awaji City Maruyama Fishing Park

    "This park is a fishing spot on Benten Island off the coast of the Maruyama Fishing Port facing the Naruto Strait. It is very impactful since it is an approximately 150-meter wide and three-meter fishing platform that runs around half the island and juts out into the sea. There is also a ten-meter square offshore area where you can try to catch many different fish species throughout the year. The administration office is located in the farmer's store ""Uosaikan,"" and they sell bait and rental poles are available for a fee. With sunsets that have Taiko Bridge and Benten Island as silhouettes, it is also popular as a picnicking and sightseeing spot."

    This park spans Nishinomiya City, Amagasaki City, Takarazuka City and Itami City. The green area along the Mukogawa River has facilities such as a jogging course, cycling road and tennis courts. In addition, besides the nearly 1,000 cherry blossom trees that bloom in the spring, you can also see cosmos, rape and other flowers depending on the season.

    This lush park is located in “Mt. Futatabi” of Yamada Town in Kita Ward, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture. It contains a permanent nature reserve and a foreigner burial ground, and it has been designated a “Place of Scenic Beauty” by the government. The foreigner burial ground requires advance reservations for general visitors, and it is open every year from April through November on the fourth Sunday of the month. Around Shiogahara Pond are red pine groves, and it is known as a particular beautiful fall foliage spot in the Rokko Mountains. There is a walking path around the pond, and the spot is perfect for a casual picnic with the children.

    This park is located in the Arima Hot Springs area of Kita Ward, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture. It lies on the ruins of Obakushu Zuihoji Temple, which was destroyed at the beginning of the Meiji period. It is known as an especially beautiful spot for viewing the fall foliage in Hyogo Prefecture. Toyotomi Hideyoshi loved this spot for that very reason, and his favorite spot was the “garden of leisure,” which he said he could “look at forever without growing bored.” There is a stone go board that Hideyoshi is said to have played go on. The “Great Arima Tea Ceremony” is held every year on the 2nd and 3rd of November.

    This park is located in Shingu Shingu-cho, Tatsuno City. Situated on the Ibo River, the park is famous for its cherry and azalea blossoms in spring, and fall foliage in autumn. The park has a 159-meter-long suspension bridge spanning the river and is adjoined by the local government-run Shinguso hotel.

    This park is 20 minutes from the Sayo Interchange on the Chugoku Expressway. The spacious grounds encompass a huge, 100-meter-long slide, indoor exercise ground, playground, and walking courses. The park's huge slide makes use of the side of a mountain and was once touted as the longest slide in Japan. Visitors rave that the slide offers up stunning scenery and thrills and is fun for adults as well as children. In spring, the area explodes with the pink blossoms of some 1,000 cherry trees maintained by local residents, and the park bustles with visitors from across the prefecture and beyond come to enjoy some flower viewing.
  • Miwakare Park

    This park is located a 10-minute walk from Iso Station on the JR Fukuchiyama Line. The park was developed in the area around Miwakare, the lowest water divide on the island of Honshu. Miwakare is situated upstream of the Takatani River, which is part of the Kako River drainage system. The Takatani River is famous for its tunnel of cherry blossoms. Every year, it bustles with the many people who come to view the flowers. The park features an outdoor stage, a children's square, a forest bathing course, an artificial waterfall, and the Miwakare Museum, which features exhibits about the lowest water divide on Japan's main island.
  • Shizu no Sato Park

    The park is about 5 minutes by car from the Tsuna Ichinomiya Interchange on the Kobe-Awaji Naruto Expressway, and is associated with Shizuka Gozen, a woman known for her tragic love affair with Minamoto no Yoshitsune. There is also a tea ceremony room, a 15-meter-high Sorin-no Hoto (pagoda), and a dugout where Nishikigoi carp swim. The museum, which introduces Shizugozen and local history and culture, also houses a replica of a 100 million yen gold nugget that was once on display.

    The park is about 20 minutes by car from the Hokudan IC of the Kobe-Awaji Naruto Expressway, and is the 11th temple of the Awaji Hanahanro (flower garden). There is a walking course from the waterfall to the pond.

    A unique park with the theme of the fragrance of plants. 10 minutes by car from the Tsuna Ichinomiya IC on the Kobe-Awaji Naruto Expressway, this 21st Awaji Hanahanro (flower garden) is not only a place to view herbs, flowers, and trees, but also to enjoy their fragrances. The best time to visit is from April to June, when many of the herbs are in full bloom, so that visitors can enjoy a variety of fragrances while strolling around the park.

    A 10-minute drive from the Sumoto Interchange on the Kobe-Awaji-Naruto Expressway, this spacious park surrounded by rich nature has a lawn where you can play ball and flying disc to your heart's content, a waterfall for communication, a water wheel house, and other relaxing spots where you can enjoy the cool flow of water. The adjacent Sunrise Awaji offers ball and disc rentals, meals, and lodging (Fureai no Taki Falls and the Water Mill are currently under construction).

Visitors can enjoy strolling around the park in a tranquil atmosphere with waterfalls, streams, and ponds, as well as plum and cherry blossoms in spring and autumn leaves in fall."
