    This is a park in the center of Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture, established on the grounds of Hirosaki Castle. Many elements inside the park are designated as important cultural assets of Japan, and visitors can see remains of the feudal era including the castle tower, five castle gates and a watchtower. With a moat surrounded by Japan’s oldest Somei Yoshino cherry trees, it is known as one of the prefecture’s leading cherry blossom spots. Many visitors come for the spring cherry blossom festival, as well as the autumn leaves festival and winter snow lantern festival, with several events going on throughout the year.

  • Hirosaki City Apple Park

    This is a park and tourist facility in Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture, where one can experience local specialty apple production. From common to rare there are around 80 varieties of apples on 1,500 trees. In the production experience garden one can stroll freely through the grounds, and from the beginning of August to mid-November one can pick and eat the apples. In the garden there is an “apple house” to learn more about apples, a reconstructed farmer’s residence displaying agricultural equipment, open areas and picnic spots too.

    This national park is located in the mountainous region of northern Honshu. The scenery of the beautiful Mt. Iwate, also called the Mt. Fuji of the Nanbu area as well as Lake Towada and the Oirase-Keiryu (a mountain stream), known as a Special Place of Scenic Beauty and also designated as a Natural Monument, is spectacular. The region bustles with sightseers especially in the seasons of new green growth and autumn leaves. Mt. Hakkoda at the northernmost tip of the Ou Mountain Range boasts one of the deepest snowfalls in the country and you can enjoy mountain skiing in winter. There are several visitor and information centers within the park introducing climbing routes and exhibiting materials on nature and the Towada-Hachimantai National Park ecosystem. Towada Visitor Center provides multilingual pamphlets.

    "Located within easy walking distance of Ashino-Koen Station on the Tsugaru Railway Line, Ashino Chishogun Prefectural NaturalPark is a natural park covering an area of around 612 hectares, adjacent to Osawanai-tameike Pond in Nakadomari Town and Fujieda-tameike Pond (Lake Ashino) in Goshogawara City. Both Ponds are man-made, but they have been managed to support rich communities of riparian and aquatic plant life. The park is also one of the best places on the Tsugaru Peninsula to view cherry blossom, and has been included in the list of ""Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots."" There are around 2,300 cherry trees in the park, including the Yoshino variety, etc.; the ""Kanagi Cherry Blossom Festival"" is held every year in late April. The park is also famous for its association with the author Dazai Osamu, who often visited here when he was a boy."

    This municipal park is located in Shirikama, Kohiradatenouchi, Tanabu, Mutsu City on land jutting into Lake Hayagake. Facilities include an outdoor stage, and it's adjacent to the Hayakake Lakeside Hill Camping Ground. It's a popular cherry blossom viewing spot with double-flowered cherry and Yoshino cherry, as well as late-blooming Gyoiko cherry. It hosts the Mutsu Cherry Blossom Festival in the spring. The park's also a good spot to view the colorful foliage in autumn.

    This is a grassy square in Hamana, Imabetsu Town, HigashitsugaruCounty. Constructed at the completion of the Hakodate Tunnel, which connects the islands of Honshu and Hokkaido. From here, atop the observatory, one can watch the Hokkaido Shinkansen enter and exit the tunnel. It may be closed during periods of heavy snow.

    This is a rest area surrounded by plaques containing the names of works by Osamu Dazai located on the side of the path leading up to the site of the old Meiji Elementary School. It's thought that Dazai passed through this place on his way to school. The area was constructed in 1998 with the cooperation of Dazai's oldest daughter, Sonoko Tsushima, along with the Dazai Association, with the aim of creating a peaceful place to take a rest on the way up to the Shayokan and the Dazai Osamu Literary Monument.

    "This natural park has an area of about 18 hectares. There is a marsh where you can enjoy carp fishing, and it is also well known for its cherry blossoms. About 1,000 trees bloom in profusion including mountain cherry trees and Yoshino cherry trees, and the place is crowded with people who come to view the cherry blossoms. At the same time at the ""Rokunohe Spring Festival,"" carp streamers swim above the marsh."

    This symbolic park in the Kanita area is located along National Route 280. This is a scenic spot with a viewing platform from which you can view Mutsu Bay and even far-away Hokkaido. In the park, known as the hill of literature, is a literary monument to Dazai Osamu, a willow monument to Sugino Tomiichi, a willow monument to Wind Village Kawayanagi Taisho, and more. There is a beach area, and a camping site, and in the summer is a popular location filled with families and sightseers.

    About a 10-minute drive from Kominato Station on the Aoimori Railway, this forest park is surrounded by flowers and greenery. There are various facilities inside the park, and the main attractions are the cactus garden which features over 3,000 species of cacti and succulents, and a beautiful tropical orchid garden where you can appreciate 150 species of orchids in full bloom. The cactus greenhouse is in the northeast, and there are so many different kinds. In the tropical orchid greenhouse, you can see 150 kinds of orchids over the course of a year. Additionally, this is a spot where you can enjoy an entire day with facilities that include the Yogoshiyama Auto Campsite, Yogoshiyama Cabin House, park golf courses, ski areas and Yogoshiyama hot springs.

    A park situated on the short of Lake Ogawara, the 11th largest lake in Japan. The park contains numerous places for leisure, including an auto camping site, standard campground, beach (swimming only allowed in summer), and fishing zone. From late April to early May, the park is used as the main venue for the Tohoku Town Cherry Blossom Festival, and at night the park's cherry trees are lit up.

    This seaside park has been selected as one of the 100 most beautiful urban parks in Japan; in spring, cherry trees burst into bloom, while in early summer the blossoms of the wisteria growing on the park grounds are lovely. Park highlights include the Miyo no Matsu pine tree, designated a Natural Monument by the city, an avenue of pine trees, and stone monuments dedicated to poets such as Takuboku Ishikawa and Matsuo Basho, and visitors are particularly recommended to take a stroll through the grounds. The park also has a playground and small zoo area and is a popular destination for families with children.

    A leisure park opened in 2005 located in a corner of Aomori City Sports Park. The lush park area has a playground with a lengthy slides and other equipment modeled after famous locations in Aomori. There's also a natural grass lawn and splash zone with fountains where children can play in shallow waters, making the park a great place for families to enjoy a day outdoors. On sunny days, many people come here to have a picnic.

    A lush leisure park with beautiful scenery sprawling on the shore of Lake Tsugaru Fujimi. The park's spacious 12.4 hectare grounds host Japan's first roller slide with a 360 degree loop, an athletic field, and a picnic area where visitors can barbecue. The park is also the location of several famous places such as the Tsurunomai Bridge, a wooden bridge which is the longest in Japan and which is also known for the legend of the lord of Shimizu Castle and Princess Shirakami. People of all ages can enjoy a day at the park here.

    "Consisting of two massive rock formations which resemble a man and woman embracing, this rock is accordingly said to aid visitors in finding luck in love and marriage. The ""male"" rock reaches 101 meters above sea level. Erosion has worn away the surrounding shale, exposing the rough rhyolite of the rock. The ""female"" rock is smaller, rounder, and more ""gentle"" in appearance."

    正確には、新井田公園から少し上流、八戸市立市民病院の近くあたりに、12月くらいから白鳥が居ます。私が12月に行った時は20羽程度、1月に入って行った時には50羽程度居ました。他にも真鴨(多分)、海猫、カラスも少し居ます。

    観光地、というか、広い緑地が広がる公園で、家族連れがスポーツなんかを楽しむのの用かと思います。わざわざ来るほどの価値はないですが、気持ちがよい空間です。

    雨と強風の日の訪問なので、あまり良い印象は有りませんでした。それでも広いエリアなので、暑く成れば多くの観光客が訪れそうですね。駅から徒歩スグです。
