"A facility where visitors can watch the Japanese macaques which live in the Kashiwara Mountains on the southeast side of Awaji Island. The facility is located a 40-minute drive on National Route 28 from the Seidan-Mihara interchange on the Kobe-Awaji-Naruto Expressway. The monkeys come down from the mountains each morning around 9:00 and return around 17:00. Particularly in winter when there is little food to be found in the mountains, many monkeys come here looking for something to eat, giving visitors a strong chance of being able to see some. The monkeys get along well with each other and on cold evenings visitors may be able to catch sight of them huddling together in a phenomenon locals call ""saru dango"" (""monkey dumplings""). The season for monkey watching is from December to August."

This aquarium is in Tegarayama Central Park in Nishinobusue, Himeji City. Its main building has marine life including sea turtles, penguins, and schools of pilchard, and its annex is home to an African spurred tortoise and freshwater fish.
