    You’ll find this museum about three minutes from the Sarutahiko Shrine, which is northwest of Naiku, Ise-jingu Shrine. This museum exhibits the works of Ito Shoha from the Meiji through the Showa periods, many of which feature women as their subjects. The permanent exhibits include some of her most famous works, such as “Akikusa to Miyatsukaeseru Onnatachi” and “Retsujo Katana no Tsuma.” There are also a study room where you can browse about 500 art books and film materials; it can also be used as a rest area.

    "This establishment is one of the ""Ise Street Corner Museums"" - small facilities which introduce the handicrafts and history of Ise. A studio which makes Ise netsuke sash toggles using Japanese box tree wood from Mt. Asama, known as the ""jewel of woods,"" it displays its pieces for the general public to view. Ise netsuke, patterned after traditional Japanese themes of natural beauty, became an essential part of the everyday lives of commoners with the growth of kimono culture. The tiny carvings, just three or four centimeters tall, are imbued with a variety of designs exuding characteristics such as warmth, cuteness, and stylishness. Growing ever more delicate, they eventually developed to the point where they were veritable works of art, and there are many netsuke collectors not only across Japan but around the world."

    This sculpture museum is located a five-minute walk from Kintetsu Sakakibara-Onsenguchi Station. It was opened by Takegawa Yujiro in December 1987. The 1,300 sculptures on display are from ancient to modern times, and all of them were brought to Japan from the Louvre Museum in Paris. You can enjoy sculptures from the Louvre while still in Japan. The exhibited works are molded directly from the actual sculptures, so everything from their size to every scar is exactly the same. You can fully appreciate the many famous pieces that line the museum and appear in textbooks.

    You’ll find this museum in Uramura Town, Toba City, Mie Prefecture. It collects, stores, and exhibits materials that focus on people’s relationship with the sea. You’ll find over 60,000 items that cover everything from ships to woman divers, fishing gear, and documents related to fishing methods. 6,879 of these items have been designated National Important Tangible Cultural Properties. The repository that houses 80 wooden boats is especially amazing. It was designed by Hiroshi Naito and won the Prize of AIJ (Architectural Institute of Japan), and it was chosen as one of the Top 100 Public Building Designs as well. The facility offers crafting experiences, wildlife observation, and a range of other activities.

    An art museum located a 10 minute walk from the west entrance of Tsu Station in Mie Prefecture. Each year, the museum holds four exhibitions of artwork from the Edo period onward. The museum's standing exhibition focuses on artists from Mie Prefecture. The museum has three exhibition areas, the content of which is changed several times throughout the year. The museum offers a stamp rally which involves travelling to various areas in the facility, fun for families with children. During the summer school holiday, the museum also offers workshops. The museum also has a restaurant with a terrace and a shop which sells original merchandise and art-themed goods.

    This park located in Kasado-cho, Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture is where different flowers vividly bloom throughout the year along Lake Shiratori. It is popular with children, combining 24 kinds of large complex playground equipment such as a 30-meter roller slider, mountain road and net dome. In the spring, the rows of cherry blossoms and flower beds are very beautiful. You can also see fountains in the summer. There is a resting space and accessible restrooms, making it a popular place where people of all ages can relax.

    "This porcelain shop has been in business since the Edo period. The shop displays a collection of porcelain and Nishiki-e prints dating to between the end of the Edo period and the early Meiji period. The establishment is one of the ""Ise Street Corner Museums"" - small facilities run by born and bred Ise natives which introduce the living and breathing culture of Ise. There is an old 64-meter-long trolley rail running from the entrance of the shop to the back which was once used to haul merchandise, hinting at the prosperity once enjoyed by Ise City's Kawasaki district, which was known as the ""pantry of Ise."" In the shop's storehouse in the back (entry fee required), you can view Edo period porcelain as well as a variety of antiques and curios which convey what life was once like here."

It served as a living room and bedroom for the lords of Kuno Castle when they moved in Tamaru Castle. It was reconstructed inside of the castle in the early 1990s.     Counted among the many wealthy merchants in Matsusaka with stores in Edo, along with Mitsui, Hasegawa and Nagai the high-ranking Ozu family served the Kishu clan as financiers in 1755. Inside the Matsusaka Merchant Museum which opened up as a museum in the former residence of Seizaemon Ozu, there is a man-ryo-bako (literally, a box to store 10,000 ryo) rather than the sen-ryo-bako (literally, a box to store 1,000 ryo) and gives one a sense of the influence of the wealthy Ise merchants who had a shop in Edo.

    This eight hectare herb garden is located inside the facilities of the Menard Aoyama Resort. Utilizing the climate of Takayama Kogen at an altitude of 600 meters that is cool throughout the year, more than 300 types of herbs such as lavender and chamomile are cultivated here. It is open from the end of April until the end of November. You can walk along a promenade within the forest on the facility, allowing you to enjoy forest bathing and its healing effects. In addition, they offer herb tea and dishes such as herb pasta at the cafe in the garden. There is also a shop that sells herb-related goods, so you can fully enjoy herbs to your heart's content.

The museum operates out of a structure built in the Meiji period to serve as a villa for the Doi, a forestry family from Owase. The museum displays local traditional Owase bushi dolls, other Japanese dolls, and dolls gathered from countries around the world. The museum also adjoins Doi Bamboo Forest, a bamboo forest planted by the very same Doi family.

The only water intake facility in the Chukyo area, the facility intakes and supplies Mie Owase deep sea water from 400 meters below the surface. The facility supplies five varieties of deep sea water of differing salinities and hardnesses. The facility also serves as a center for information on deep sea water and holds activity classes and events which make use of a touch pool in the facility's courtyard.

    宮川堤を訪れる際に立ち寄ってみました。憲政の神、尾崎咢堂の功績をたたえ、尾崎邸があった場所に設立した記念館。館内は尾崎咢堂にまつわる物や資料がありましたが、興味がある人向けですね。真っ白で美しい建物は平成15年に改築したものだそうで素敵な雰囲気でした。

Spread across the eastern side of the Kii Peninsula, Mie prefecture boasts hundreds of kilometers of pretty coastline comprising the oyster-rich Toba city and Shima National Park all the way down to Kumano, a city that marks the beginning of part of the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage, which runs into neighboring Wakayama prefecture. However, Mie is best known for the Ise Jingu Shinto shrine inland, one of the oldest and largest shrines in the country.
