This stunning and vast aquarium facility boasts 16 areas and the vibrant orca and dolphin shows are popular with adults as well as children. Watch out for the sprays of water during the performances! Be sure to bring a disposable raincoat or vinyl sheet if you don’t want to get wet.

    The collection at Chiba City Museum of Art focuses on works by artists with a close connection to the Boso Peninsula and paintings of scenes from the Boso Peninsula. Its collection includes paintings from the Edo period (1603?1868), woodblock prints from the Edo through early Showa periods (1926?1989), and Japanese and Western modern art. It has no permanent exhibits but instead sponsors rotating exhibitions and exhibitions of its holdings, lectures, and workshops. The museum is housed in the remodeled and restored Chiba branch of Kawasaki Bank and shares the building with the ward office of Chuo-ku. There is also a restaurant and a library in the building.

    Not a grand gallery but provide a good glimpse of works from local artists. The set up is nice and is worth a visit if you are in the area. The very friendly atmosphere made me feeling welcome...

    The expansive Chiba Zoological Park opened in 1985, and has a variety of courses to enjoy, including a petting zoo where you can feed animals or ride a pony. There are barbecue pits and a restaurant so you can spend a full day here. A portion of sales from the popular Lesser Panda Ramen, available at zoo restaurant, goes to support the zoo, as well.

    "Chiba Prefectural Museum of Art is located in Chiba Port Park. Its collection is centered on artists who have a connection with Chiba Prefecture and materials related to them. Its 2,800-piece collection includes paintings by such artists as the early modern Japanese Western-style painter Chu Asai, Jean-Francois Millet, and Pierre- Auguste Renoir, along with the works of metal sculptors such as Hotsuma Katori and Shinobu Tsuda. The one-story architecture, with no entire differences in level, was designed by architect Masato Otaka. The adjacent ""Resident's Studio"" building contains lecture halls, an information and documents library, and studios."

    "The Ichikawa Zoological and Botanical Garden houses lesser pandas, orangutans, monkeys, various small animals, and birds.     This is one of the Sodegaura City Local Museum's exhibition facilities. It's in Sodegaura Park. Established to commemorate the first anniversary of the Tokyo Bay Aqua Line, it has Aqua Line related models, items, and displays on the civil engineering technology used for its construction. The venue is sometimes used for other exhibitions, too.

    袖ヶ浦公園の中にあります。映像展示室、歴史展示室,民俗展示室等に分かれていて、古代から近代まで袖ヶ浦にまつわる歴史を、模型や写真を多用して、わかりやすく解説していました。 また、すぐ近くにはアクアラインなるほど館や移築した古民家があり、公園でのんびり過ごす以上の価値があるところでした。

    This facility is in Yatsu Higata Park. It looks out over the Yatsu Tidal Flat, and a telescope lets you take in the unique environment with its over 110 varieties of birds that visit annually. Park employees who are tideland experts are always on hand, and apart from offering commentary on facility exhibits, they also conduct programs for making handicrafts with natural materials and hold observation classes. There is also a cafe where you can enjoy a meal on the waterfront.

There are dioramas the depict the sea, beaches, and tidal flats of Boso along with rotating seasonal exhibits that about the surrounding natural environment. These exhibits bring visitors in close contact with the sea and natural environment around Boso. Occasionally, the museum sponsors nature study session and other outdoor events, as well as holding specimen preparation events and experiential learning sessions at the Ocean Experience Corner."

Visitors can deepen their own knowledge of gardening by attending lectures or seeking advice at Midori no Sodanjo (Green Advice Center).

The museum is housed in a four-layered, five-story replica of the castle keep, and the top floor is an observation platform.

You can enjoy visiting together with easy-to-understand explanations of materials related to marine art.

Items on display include literature, picture books, color woodblock prints, and more."

    "Natural History Museum and Institute, Chiba, is located in Aobanomori Park. Its permanent exhibit, organized around the theme of ""Nature and Humans of the Boso Peninsula,"" is composed of three parts: ""Boso Nature Magazine,"" ""The History of Boso,"" and ""Connections between Nature and Humans."" The exhibits include diorama replicas of natural environments in Boso, fossils, live small animals, and duplicates of cultural artifacts. All of these help visitors learn about the natural environment and history of the Boso Peninsula. In addition to rotating exhibits and special events, there is also an ecology park in which visitors can observe and study the ecology of the animals and plants in Boso Peninsula."

It exhibits materials connected with the history and folk customs of Sekiyado, in its role in transport on the Tone River, and the history of the Sekiyado domain and Sekiyado Castle as shown in models and videos. The museum also sponsors lectures about the history of Sekiyado and the local cuisine, experiential learning sessions, and other such events."

    "Tateyama Beach Station is multipurpose facility located along the Uchibo Nagisa Line Highway. It is adjacent to the Nagisa no Hakubutsukan (Beach Museum), a satellite collection of the Tateyama City Museum, which displays Boso Peninsula fishing implements (designated as Important Tangible Folk Cultural Property) and other exhibits related to the fishing industry on the Boso Peninsula. In addition to Umibe no Hiroba (""Seashore Plaza""), which exhibits living things found in Tateyama, there is an observation deck where visitors can watch the sunset over Tateyama Bay or see Mt. Fuji, as well as well as Tateyama Sunset Pier, the longest such pier in Japan. The commercial building contains a market where visitors can buy seafood and agricultural products directly from those who produced them, as well as a restaurant that serves dishes made with fresh, local ingredients."
