An aquarium park with animal performances and displays recreating natural habitats where you can come in contact with the ocean and learn the importance of the environment in which its creatures live. This stunning and vast aquarium facility boasts 16 areas and the vibrant orca and dolphin shows are popular with adults as well as children. Watch out for the sprays of water during the performances! Be sure to bring a disposable raincoat or vinyl sheet if you don’t want to get wet.

The concrete pens weren’t so clean and in my opinion it’s sad to see these cetaceans which were forcefully taken from the wild in Taiji, trained to perform for humans. Some had what appeared to have...

The expansive Chiba Zoological Park opened in 1985, and has a variety of courses to enjoy, including a petting zoo where you can feed animals or ride a pony. There are barbecue pits and a restaurant so you can spend a full day here. A portion of sales from the popular Lesser Panda Ramen, available at zoo restaurant, goes to support the zoo, as well.

I went to Chiba Zoological Park on Thursday 28th November 2019. The gardens all around the zoo are fabulous. The animals, however, are kept in very poor conditions. The gorilla, and some of the...

The Museum of Aeronautical Sciences is the place to learn about the science of aviation and aviation technology. Museum visitors can enjoy the outdoor exhibition plaza, which displays Cessnas, helicopters, and other aircraft. The indoor portion of the museum contains exhibits of aviation-related art and serves as the site for pre-licensing seminars for aspiring aeronautical radio operators. The museum shop sells scale models of aircraft and a large selection of other aviation-related souvenirs and novelties.

At the Keisei Rose Garden, a variety of flowers including 10,000 bushes of 1,600 varieties of roses are planted over 30,000 square meters. Visitors can enjoy plants and trees here that change with the seasons. The garden has roses ranging from purebred and heirloom varieties to the latest cultivars, and visitors have fun learning about their background as they mill around. The garden also holds various seminars and fairs.

Really amazing, with the Typhoons and great wind and storms the roses are still holding. It would have been really lovely if the garden was not hit by the storm, nevertheless it was still a pretty...

"Ichihara Elephant Kingdomhas 10 elephants, more than anywhere else in Japan, and 100 other kinds of animals live there, too, including camels and hippos. After a show in which the elements ""play soccer"" and ""dance,"" visitors can have their pictures taken while riding an elephant. Visitors who make reservations can ride free shuttle buses from Takataki Station on the Kominato Railway or from the Ichihara-Tsurumai Bus Terminal."

The most depressing place I have seen in Japan. The cage look disgusting and the elephant so depressed. Horrible place.

Displaying 450 works by approximately 50 artists, ranging from great masters to young artists, the Hoki Museum is the first museum in Japan dedicated to works of realism. Designed in three stories, one above ground, two below, the layered galleries are long corridors, with a section of the building appearing to float in air. Reservations are recommended for the very popular Italian cuisine restaurant Hanau located inside the museum.

Great museum for realism. Cool building. It has a cafe and Italian restaurant. An hour from Tokyo but well worth the visit

This history museum’s permanent exhibition focuses on Boso’s castle and its castle town, both in the medieval era and in recent times. The museum exhibits artifacts related to it, like armor, antique equipment, and ancient documents, as well as materials on life in samurai society and the castle town. Since Honda Tadakatsu was once the castle’s lord, it was built on the famous Otaki ruins of the Kazusa clan’s inner citadel (Tadakatsu was one of the four generals that served Tokugawa Ieyasu).

Ootaki is an old castle town that was ruled by Katsuie Honda, a prominent subordinate of Ieyasu Tokugawa in the late 16th century. The township has preserved many of its Edo period merchant houses...

Also on the grounds are a nature garden, a rose garden, and an ornamental botanical garden, all with free admission. A miniature railroad has also been installed in the zoo."

This museum of science is located along the Togane-kaido Street in the center of Chuo Ward, Chiba City, just a short six-minute walk from Chiba-Chuo Station. The Ichihara Lakeside Museum underwent renewal and re-opened in 2013. It is an extremely charming art museum that makes great use of its location on the coast of Lake Takataki. First and foremost, the diverse exhibits are endlessly fascinating, but you will also find a museum shop with an array of local Ichihara products and original goods with the museum logo. And you can enjoy a great pizza restaurant that uses mainly ingredients from Boso.

It was built in order to preserve and utilize the old Kawasaki Bank Sakura Branch (a Prefectural Tangible Cultural Property) built during the Taisho period. There’s also a café inside where you can enjoy a hand-made meal and dessert using local ingredients.

The Boso Peninsula forms the main body of Chiba prefecture, and this is where you’ll find its endless warm water beaches and jagged mountains. Further inland, Narita - most famous as the home of Narita Airport - is a secret haven of tradition and history in the form of centuries-old Shinshoji Temple and quaint wooden Edo buildings.
