The Ichihara Lakeside Museum underwent renewal and re-opened in 2013. It is an extremely charming art museum that makes great use of its location on the coast of Lake Takataki. First and foremost, the diverse exhibits are endlessly fascinating, but you will also find a museum shop with an array of local Ichihara products and original goods with the museum logo. And you can enjoy a great pizza restaurant that uses mainly ingredients from Boso.

湖のほとりにあり、景色がよい。館内だけでなく、屋外展示も面白い。湖畔には桜が多く植えられ、桜の時期にはゆっくりと歩くのもよい。

駐車場は美術館奥にもあり、かなり広い。屋外展示物もある。屋上の展示は風化によるためか、壊れていたり、手入れがされていない様子で残念。一度来れば充分。
受付が残念と料金が高め

ロケーションや建物や展示内容はおすすめできるが、受付が事務的でチケット購入時も帰る時も「ありがとうございます」の挨拶もなく、この手の美術館では珍しく残念。改善の余地あり。料金も800円と高め、規模から言って500-600円程度が妥当と考える。
