    Jean Francois is a bakery with a café inside, and it usually has 60 kinds of bread on hand, all produced by MOF (Meilleur Ouvrier de France) award-winning chef Jean-François Lemercier. He uses carefully selected ingredients, including wheat grown in France and natural salt, and aims to preserve the natural flavors of these ingredients. Baked according to unique methods, his bread is crisp and fragrant on the outside but has a notably soft and springy texture on the inside. He also sells Western-style confections and bread rolls to be served on the side.

    A malasada specialty shop first opened on Oahu, Hawaii, this is Leonard’s first Japanese location. Founded in 1952, malasada is a popular local treat in Hawaii. A type of fried bread, the exterior of malasada is crisp and light, the inside fluffy. Malasada is prepared in a single consistent process, starting with the mixing of the flour and other ingredients. Leonard’s malasada is never prepared in advance, meaning you can always enjoy it fresh cooked. The shop also has an eat-in space.

    Pastry Shop Dorer is in the first underground floor of Hotel Yokohama Bay Sheraton, connected to Yokohama Station. It’s immensely convenient, as it is directly accessible straight from Yokohama Station’s West exit and Diamond underground shopping area. It may seem hard to get to because of its location in a luxury hotel, but since it’s directly accessible from the station it’s an easy stop off for many. The price is also reasonable for hotel-made bread. The shop is stroller-friendly and it’s a great place for people looking for a light meal in addition to something to take home.

The shop’s name, Coffret means a small box in French, and colorful cakes using a wide variety of fruit are lined up in its display cases. Takeaway is available as well as eating in its café area where you can have cake with coffee or tea. It not only handles cakes but also breads and deli items.

    横浜駅地下１階ダイヤキッチンにあるお店。ポンパドールといえば横浜発祥で有名ですが、こちらの店舗は最大級の広さと品揃えです。一番人気のチーズバタールはサイズ別でお値段が異なるので、少しだけの購入でも可能です。ゴロゴロっとチーズがたっぷり入っているので、持ち帰り後オーブンで焼くと外はパリパリ、チーズの豊かな香りで口中が満たされ幸せな時間に満たされます。

    This ice cream shop is located on the first floor of Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse No. 2 in the Shin-Minato district of Naka Ward, Yokohama City. They make a contemporary version of Aisukurin, made with just milk, egg yolks and sugar, and also said to be the first kind of ice cream made in Japan. Six types of ice cream are offered together with monaka (sweet bean paste sandwiched between thin crisp wafers made from mochi rice cake), including their freshly-made Yokohama Bashamichi ice custard.

    イベントついでにお邪魔した際、冷たいものが食べたくて直ぐに買えそうなコチラのお店に行きました。 手のひらのカップのアイスで390円だったかな。ハーゲンダッツのような濃い味でもなく、薄い味でもない。ほんのりとお上品といえば、それらしい。 写真のようにカップアイスは上にモナカが被さっております。どうやらコーンは無さそうなのでご注意を。

    生キャラメルテイスティングが一日何回か１５名限定で行われています。ちょうど会う時間で１組しか並んでなくて、参加。１１０円ですが、店内の商品を購入したら生キャラメルテイスティング代金が無料。お得です。今回は塩味のピンクソルト。砂時計で時間が来たらたべます。コロナ対策で間隔をとって入店させていて、対応きちんとされてました。もちろん食べた後はキャラメルかってかえりました。

    This longstanding Western confectionary shop was established in 1969 and is located on floor B2 of Sogo Yokohama, which can be reached by going down the Central Passage of the Porta underground mall connected to the east exit of Yokohama Station. The shop sells a variety of standard cakes and baked sweets, such as its signature financiers, which were awarded a Guinness World Record four years running for numbers sold; aromatic sesame Florentines; and delightful sables. You can also order a cake with a message plate for events such as birthdays and anniversaries.

    横浜駅東口側、そごうにあるアンリシャルパンティエさんです。 かなり前からあるお店。 生ケーキも焼き菓子も美味しく、進物として持っていくと喜ばれることが多いです。

    This Western confectionary shop, a one-minute walk from Yokohama Station, is located on floor B1 of Yokohama Takashimaya connected directly to the west exit of Yokohama Station. The shop is part of a longstanding chain of shops which were originally part of Yamate Jubankan established in 1967 which expanded to five locations in the prefecture after going independent. The shop provides a home delivery service. Everything the shop sells is exquisite and would make a great souvenir, such as Biscout biscuits which come in three delightful flavors - chocolate, peanut, and lemon; and Bluff Madeleine cakes redolent with the aroma of butter. The shop also sells products packed for giving as gifts.

Kanagawa prefecture acts as an extension of the Tokyo metropolis that spills over into coastal towns, most notably Yokohama city, heavily populated and known for its Chinatown and seaside attractions. Just the right distance for a day trip out of Tokyo, Kanagawa is home to some of Tokyo’s most accessible beaches, including around Kamakura, best known for its Big Buddha.
