    This is the morning market that opens in front of the Kawasaki fish market. The market operates every Sunday from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m.in the morning. Around 30 different sellers set up shop. The market primarily offers tuna, but seasonal seafood, sea products, and other fresh vegetables, flowers, bread, pickles, beans, and even boxed lunches are for sale. The market throngs with locals and tourist every week, and at times, other entertaining events are sponsored also.

Boasting one of the greatest intakes of tuna in Japan, visitors can watch the frozen tuna auctions which take place here from the viewing gallery on the second floor. There's also a diner on the market grounds where you can eat dishes made with fresh seafood and local vegetables.

    This fish dealer sells fresh seafood just caught in Sajima Fishing Port right out front a 15-minute drive from the Yokosuka Interchange on the Yokohama Yokosuka Road. The shop sells around 20 to 40 varieties of seafood caught that very morning at any given time; the supremely fresh skipjack tuna caught the same day is particularly popular. In the evening, the shop also gets turban shell and abalone. The shop will butcher and filet your purchase for you for free. The shop is even licensed to prepare fugu, and its wild fugu sashimi is particularly recommended.

    This meat shop, located a one-minute walk from Keikyu Horinouchi Station, is also a restaurant which serves Yokosuka navy curry, a local specialty dish. Yokosuka navy curry is a modern recreation of the recipe used by the former Japanese navy, and each restaurant which serves it has its own version. The Yokosuka navy curry served here has an old-fashioned flavor and contains plenty of beef tendon so tender it melts in your mouth. As you might expect from a meat shop, its meats are acclaimed for their flavor. The shop also sells takeout bento box meals.

    This longstanding Japanese confectionary shop, located a one-minute walk from Keikyu Yokosuka-chuo Station, was established in 1891 and sells an array of traditional Yokosuka confections. The shop's signature Kadonashi Sazae Monaka light brown wafer cakes, inspired by a legend about the great Buddhist priest Nichiren, come in three varieties - tsubuan chunky bean paste filling, pink koshian smooth bean paste filling, and white yuzu citrus filling. Each is an exquisite, flavorful treat that is not overly sweet, and these wafer cakes have been designated an Excellent Sweet by Kanagawa Prefecture. Other popular products include the baked Mont Blanc, a delightfully moist confection redolent with the aroma of astringent chestnut skin; and dorayaki pancake sandwiches stuffed with butter cream.

The group's own net fishing vessels head out to sea each morning, and the group processes the shirasu it catches immediately, ensuring supreme freshness. The group's kamaage shirasu, exquisitely seasoned using just salt, has a plump texture and a flavor fully harnesses the innate deliciousness of the whitebait. The group's sun-dried shirasu-boshi is diligently turned over again and again to ensure even exposure to sun and wind. Just what the shop has will vary depending on the day's catch, so call in advance if there's something specific you're looking for.

    A Western confectionery shop with branches in Oiso and Hayama. They offer 14 to 20 kinds of Western sweets, including baked confections, various cookies, ganache, etc. It also has a popular cafe. If you know what you'd like you might want to order in advance because some items sell out quickly when they're busy.

    葉山御用邸の三差路から役所方面へ歩くこと数分、バス大通りに面しています。素敵な建物なのですぐに分かります。飲み物と洋菓子をチョイスします。大体1,000円-1,300円程度です。店内はシックな作りで落ち着きます。4人掛けテーブルが7-8あります。二人掛け席もありますよ。

Kanagawa prefecture acts as an extension of the Tokyo metropolis that spills over into coastal towns, most notably Yokohama city, heavily populated and known for its Chinatown and seaside attractions.
