    "This Japanese and Western confectionary shop was originally established as a solely Japanese confectionary shop in 1926, the year the ""sugar license"" system was introduced. Dedicated to the concept of expressing the very essence of Miyazaki Prefecture, the place where the owner was born and raised, through confections, the shop continues to make history-leaden, traditional Japanese confections alongside novel new Western confections. The shop's signature product is its no bake cheese cake, which has just the right amount of cheesy flavor and a novel texture like smooth whipped cream, requiring you to eat it with a spoon. Made with an abundance of world-famous Buko cheese from Denmark, it's not unusual for the shop to completely sell out of this cheesecake by mid-morning."

    This Japanese confectionary shop was established in 1913. The shop continues to make old-fashioned Japanese sweets which emphasize tradition, as well as creative Western-style Japanese confections which explore new possibilities. The famous Joan Monaka wafer cakes containing four varieties of fillings sandwiched between toasty wafers are the shop's most-well known sweets. Customers can enjoy the unique characteristics of each filling -coarse and smooth types of sweet bean paste made with azuki beans from Hokkaido and Bicchu in Okayama; matcha paste made with quality green tea from Kyoto; and yuzu paste made with an abundance of yuzu citrus fruits from Saito City's Shiromi. The Kuromame Bolo, black soybean paste wrapped in a cookie crust made with plenty of honey, are also popular.
