A museum situated along Prefectural Route 216 in Kawakita, Yufuin-cho, Yufu City. The museum displays a diverse collection of vehicles and other items gathered by the owner over a 30-year span. 200 rare vintage motorcycles from Japan and around the world are displayed in the World Motorcycle History Hall. Visitors will find toys, posters, and other pop culture items dating to Japan’s bygone Showa period (1926-1989) in the Showa Retro Hall. Antiques from Europe and North America are on display in the Stained Glass and Antiques corner.

A zoo located along the Yamanami Highway in Tano, Kokonoe Town, Kusu County. Herbivores such as deer, goats, lamas, rabbits, and ponies are allowed to roam the zoo freely, and visitors can pet them, feed them, and take pictures with them. Oita Hayami-gun Hijimachi Kawasaki 837-6

This art museum, a three-minute walk from JR Hiji Station, is the only one in Kyushu and one of only a few in the country to be dedicated to Nihonga Japanese paintings. The museum displays paintings collected by Nikaido Shuzo YK, known for making the Nikaido brand of Oita barley shochus. The museum's collection of Nihonga paintings spans over 850 pieces dating from the early modern period to the present day. The museum's collection includes works by early modern period Nihonga artists such as Tokyo's Taikan Yokoyama and Gyokudo Kawai, and Kyoto's Shoen Uemura; as well as by artists from Oita prefecture. The museum holds five to six special seasonal exhibitions each year.

Oita Saiki-shi Yayoi Kamiogura 898-1

This aquarium, one of only a very few in the entire country dedicated to freshwater fish, is located inside Roadside Station Yayoi facing National Route 10 a 10-minute drive from the Saiki Interchange on the Higashikyushu Expressway. The aquarium's tanks recreate the environment of the local Bansho River and are occupied by familiar freshwater fish varieties like sweetfish, dark chub, and carp. The aquarium's global tropical fish area is divided into tanks for regions such as South America, Southeast Asia, and Africa, and fish on display include the spectral Amazonian black ghost knifefish. In addition to its standing exhibition, the aquarium also holds special exhibitions.

外と一体化した水槽が新鮮です。餌をやる時間だと、全ての魚への餌やりと説明が聴けますよ。1時間位かかります。小さい水族館ですが、安いし綺麗に管理されてます。

An amusement park standing on Nagarekawa-dori Street in Beppu City. Boasting a variety of attractions, including Japan’s only double Ferris wheel, the amusement park also has a small zoo area, restaurants, barbecue ground, large suspension bridge, and pool open in summer. A campground located on Cape Nagasakibana on the tip of the Kunisaki Peninsula in Mime, Bungotakada City. In addition to tent sites, the campground has log houses, bungalows, and cottages. The campground is adjoined by Flower Park, where some 22 million rapeseed plants and around 1.4 million sunflower plants are grown; a beach and fishing ground; and restaurant. The campground is also the site of events such as the Cape Nagasakibana Summer Festival held each year on Marine Day.

Oita Nakatsu-shi Yabakei Machi Shinyaba 1196-15

This leisure facility is located on the side of the road just north of where the Name River and Prefectural Route 602 intersect. In addition to offering outdoor activities such as barbecuing and fishing, the facility also provides lodging via auto camping and rentable log houses. Here visitors can take in the great outdoors and do things like watch fireflies in June, have fun insect hunting in summer, and take in fall foliage in autumn. In addition, the facility has a bathhouse, open to non-guests as well, whose baths are filled with the waters of a hydrogen carbonate spring said to treat such ailments as rheumatism and lower back pain. These waters can also be drunk for additional health benefits.

"A 10-minute drive from JR Oita Station and a 15-minute drive from the Oita Interchange on the Oita Expressway. This seaside park is located right next to the Tanoura bus stop. The park has been designated a ""Lover's Sanctuary"" by the Japan Tourism Agency-backed Lover's Sanctuary Project NPO. If you look closely, you can find heart-shaped stones in the stone wall of the park's small chapel building. In most years, swimming at the beach is permitted from early July through late August, but be aware that the hours when the beach is open may differ occasionally during this period. One of the great things about the park is the efforts that have been made to ensure as many people as possible can enjoy themselves here. For example, the park has off road wheelchairs available. During the two month span it is open, the beach sees around 60 thousand visitors."

Oita Oita-shi Nakahetsugi 4381

This culture space, a 10-minute drive from the Oita-Mera Interchange on the Higashikyushu Expressway, stands in a part of the city where many old historic buildings can be found. The facility operates out of a remodeled residence which once belonged to the Hoashi family, who built their fortune through sake brewing. The old residence' roughly 6,600 square meter grounds are dotted with structures built between the mid-Edo period and the early Showa period. The main residence and an additional detached building are used as galleries displaying and selling clothing crafted with an emphasis on the materials used, ceramics, and lifestyle good such as environmentally conscious items. There are also seven other facilities on the grounds: A cafe, restaurant, confectionary shop, souvenir shop, free-use space, sake brewery with a museum, and garden. (Note that the cafe is currently closed due to renovations.)

This pool facility, 15-minute walk from Beppu Station, adjoins the Beppu General Gymnasium and the Noguchibaru General Athletic Field and is replete with sauna rooms, a relaxation room, and a training room. Once you pay the entry fee, you're free to enjoy the pool's facilities for one hour. The facility's 25-meter pool has five swimming lanes plus a water walking lane for a total of six lanes. Children may need to be accompanied by a guardian depending on the time of day. The pool can also be observed from the facility's second floor.

フリーサイトを利用しました。フリーサイトは駐車場に近い所と離れてる所がありました。今回は近い所にしました。近くにトイレや炊事場もあるので便利でした。駐車場から遠い所の方がより自然を感じられる様な感じがしました。受け付けには売店がありました。

"This museum, a 40-minute drive from the Usa Interchange, is located on the grounds of Roadside Station Yaba Topia situated on the Atoda River near the Chugakko Mae bus stop. The museum was started as the Yaba Bunko library, which housed some 10 thousand old and ancient texts collected by Taisho period Sinologist Ozan Ono. The museum still possesses 3,205 scrolls and 7,800 volumes, and visitors can also see a large collection of hanging scrolls and folding screens; exhibits on the priest Zenkai, who carved the Aonodomon tunnel; a holographic presentation of author Kan Kikuchi's ""Beyond the Pale of Vengeance;"" and farming tools once used in the area."

"This mounting studio and gallery, a 40-minute drive from the Oita Airport, operates out of a remodeled three story wooden Japanese home originally built as a sake brewery in the mid-Meiji period. Inside, there is a gallery and studio which mounts items such as kimono and obi belts using folding screens and other frames and mounts. Making use of the building's expansive space, the facility holds exhibitions and displays and sells works of art by artists active in the prefecture and beyond. The facility also holds art gallery crawls in the spring and fall. In the adjoining Sangaiya cafe, you can enjoy an octopus rice meal and an open air ""coffee ceremony."""

A park located in Ichi, Oita City. The park is divided into five zones, including a large grass field, multipurpose ground, and playground. "This botanical garden can be reached by heading east from the point where the Inumaru River and Nakatsu Bypass intersect and is situated on the side of the road just past the Moriyamaohashi Crossing. ""Wanwan"" is the Japanese onomatopoeia for a dog barking, and as this park's name implies, one of its greatest merits is the fact that you can enjoy going for a walk with your dog here. In addition, the park offers a service in which you can pay a small fee and have fun walking one of the medium or large breed dogs kept on the grounds. During certain times of the year, the park also offers dog races on Sundays and holidays.
