A museum in Taiji, Taiji Town, Higashimuro County. Through various displays visitors can learn about the more than 400 year old relationship Taiji Town has had with whaling, as well as traditional whaling techniques, and the ecology of whales. Visitors can also watch the whales in action in dolphin and whale shows like the short-finned pilot whale show held in the natural pool built in the sea. The full scale skeleton of the world's largest animal, the blue whale, exhibited outdoors, is an impressive sight.

Please do not patronize this cruel and inhuman “museum” the beautiful albino dolphin named Angel swims in circles in a filthy small tank. Horrible.

A five-minute walk from the Konoshiro bus stop and 20 minutes from JR Shimosato Station. This beach is located next to the Tamanoura Enchi park beyond a residential area and before the Kisei Main Line railway crossing. There is a nearby parking area with space for 30 vehicles, and the beach is replete with changing rooms, showers, and toilets. The beach is open for swimming in most years for around one month from mid-July to mid-August. The beach's waters are shallow, making this a great destination for families with small children. Although barbecuing is prohibited on the beach, conversely this helps to make it quieter and more relaxing.

    Wakayama Shingu-shi Shingu 7691-1
"This park built on the former site of a castle is located a 10-minute walk from JR Shingu Station on an elevated spot with the Kumano River on the back. It conveys the historic prosperity of Shingu City. The castle was originally known as ""Tankaku Castle"" because it was the residence of Princess Tankaku, a daughter of Minamoto no Tameyoshi. There was once an inn located on the site of the castle's Kanenomaru enclosure. The remains of a cable car track running up the hill to the castle's foundation are a relic from this time. The castle's foundation and the ruins of its main enclosure are located at the top of stone steps that start at the parking lot. The north side of the main enclosure offers a sweeping view of the Kumano River and the Kumano Ohashi Bridge. Visitors can also enjoy seeing the park's famous cherry blossoms, which are especially beautiful at night, from the end of March to early April."
