    Located in the city of Fukuchiyama in Kyoto Prefecture, Tanshu Kannonji Temple belongs to the Koyasan Shingon sect of Buddhism and is dedicated to the bodhisattva Eleven-Faced, Thousand Armed, and Thousand Eyed Kanzeon. It is famous for its hydrangeas, and it is the oldest so-called hydrangea temple in the Kansai region. From early June to early July, when the hydrangeas are in bloom, visitors can enjoy tea and meals in the temple teahouse Kaen (reservations required).

    "A Buddhist temple standing beside Mt. Himekami. This ancient temple was established by Taima no Miko, the younger brother of Prince Shotoku and burned down several times but was rebuilt by the lords of Fukuchiyama Castle. The temple's grounds are known for their beautiful fall foliage, generally viewable in most years from early November, and the temple is even known as the ""Tanba Fall Colors Temple"" to some. The grounds are dyed vivid shades of crimson when autumn approaches, and during the temple's fall foliage festival, it bustles with large numbers of visitors. The temple is also famous for its weeping cherries, musical suikinkutsu water jar, and the 600 year old ""Nursing Gingko"" tree. The temple's seasonal scenery soothes both body and mind."

    丹波古刹寺院巡拝で参拝している寺院。臨済宗南禅寺派寺院。西国薬師霊場の第２６番札所、丹波古刹１５ケ寺霊場の第１３番札所。別名、丹波のもみじ寺として有名。庭園内には水琴窟や重森完途の薬師三尊四十九燈の庭があることでも知られている。拝観料が必要、大人３００円。

    "Located next to the ""Ankokuji-mae"" bus stop, this Buddhist temple was founded by Ashikaga Takauji, the first shogun of the Muromachi shogunate. Also said to be the place where Takauji was born, the shrine's grounds encompass a well whose waters were used for his first bath as well as the graves of Takauji and his mother Uesugi Kiyoko. The temple is in possession of numerous nationally designated Important Cultural Properties such as a seated statue of Gautama Buddha. The temple is also surrounded by mountains and forest and has been selected for inclusion in a list of Kyoto's 200 best nature spots. In fall when the leaves of the trees on the grounds turn vivid colors, the temple bustles with visitors. The temple is believed to grant worshippers the blessing of children as well as safe childbirth."

    綾部市内からチョット離れた山あいにある古刹。足利氏ゆかりのお寺さんで茅葺き屋根の本堂と紅葉が有名ですが初夏の季節も新緑もキレイです。インター近くですのでついでにどうぞ。

    A historic temple believed to have been founded in 705 by Otomo no Komaro. The 21st station on the Saigoku 33 Kannon Pilgrimage, the temple is visited by many worshipers. The “Rubbing Buddha” statue located on the temple grounds is believed to have been created some time from the Edo period onward. Enshrined in the main temple nave, it is said one will be cured of illness by rubbing the affected area first on the statue and then on one’s own body. There is also a two tier pagoda and a garden designated a Place of Scenic Beauty by the Kyoto government.

    三段池公園の横の坂をどんどん上がった先にあるお寺。 周りに家が少ないので、とても静か。五重塔はありませんが、静かで味のあるお寺でした。

    ここの堂塔は文句なしに一級品、素晴らしい薬師堂と開山堂を有する名刹でした。薬師堂は外観も内部の天井画の雲龍図も絶品の文化財です。創立７００年弱と、寺社の世界では然程の古寺とは云えない程度の歴史しかありませんが、堂塔や文化財の素晴らしさと紅葉の美しさは超一流寺院と云えます。火災の後で復興された寺院で臨済宗妙心寺派の禅寺です。

    大型バスでも拝観できます。道沿いに「青葉学園」があり、そこのグラウンド横のスペースに停めれます。なお、事前に龍潭寺に予約をしておいた方がいいです。映画の本場・太秦から車で1時間以内ということでよく撮影がされるそうです。境内はそんなに広くありません。紅葉の時期はアプローチにあたる参道と、池周り、そして境内の大きな銀杏が美しい見どころになります。なお2018年は大型の台風で銀杏の葉っぱが半分以上飛ばさ...

    国道27号線から少し入ったところにポツンと多宝塔があります。丹波国に所領を持っていた足利尊氏がこの地に移転し、建立したそうです。鎌倉後期に建立された多宝塔は朱色が鮮やかで、非常に美しいです。同時期に建てられた本堂・毘沙門堂もそれほど大きくないですが檜皮葺の立派な建物。700年前に建てられた由緒のある建物なので、今後も維持し続けてほしいです。

    府道から朱塗りの立派な大門が見えます。700年ほど前に建立された立派な仁王門で重要文化財に指定されています。仁王像もそれほど大きくはないですが迫力があります。

    余り年月を空けずに再訪しました。相変わらず萩の季節なので凄い観光客、とてもコロナ禍とは思えない。お寺の名称は忘れても「萩」が咲き誇っていた寺として覚えている人が多いのじゃないかな？お寺さんなのに・・・これでいいのかな？参拝者は殆どおらずに、みんな萩見物の観光客ばかりでした。

    創建は、寛正年間(1460-1466)に泰岩和尚により開かれたと伝え、その後、度重なる兵火等により焼失し、現在の臨済宗妙心寺派としての開山は、妙心寺塔頭智勝院の開基でもある大光普照禅師(1639)とのこと。境内のあちらこちらにもほてい様がお出迎えしています。

    稗田野神社裏手側の山中腹に佇む古刹。眺望が良いだけあって参道の傾斜はキツく、参拝は骨が折れる。車で行く場合でも路肩が崩落している場合もあるので注意が必要。 境内自体は広くはないので、参拝と眺望を楽しむだけなら30分くらい見ておけば十分。

    丹波ICからすぐの所にある600年前の室町時代に創建されたお寺です。石段には青モミジに囲まれていて、秋が深まるととてもきれいだと思います。山門をくぐると、境内はそれほど広くありませんが、手入れされた庭園が非常に美しいです。

    曹洞宗の禅寺で、街中にあります。駐車場が広くあり、奥にコンクリートの近代的な建物の本堂がありました。古いものは道路に面した鐘楼だけでした。特に歴史を説明するものもなく、福知山とどう繋がったのかわからなかった。

    わざわざ坂道をヒイヒイ云いながら登ってまでは行かなくてもいい場所とは思う。お寺と云っても特に堂塔がある訳でもなく・・・只の民家です。入口に異月山普明寺と表示されているので辛うじて、お寺さんなのか、と判る程度。大通り沿いには普明禅寺と云う寺院の石柱も建っていた。曹洞宗寺院。創建等は不明らしい。智覚普明国師が再興したのでこの寺院名になったとか・・・。火災等で何度か焼失し、都度、再興されたらしい。本尊は...

    綾部郊外にある寺で別名丹波のカラス寺というが四季のカラスの襖絵があることから言われるらしい。道の向かいに池があり春はつつじ、夏は蓮が咲くらしいが、6月に訪問したときはあまり花はなかった。石段を登る本堂はいい雰囲気。関西花の寺第2番で御朱印は下の建物でいただける。カラスの襖絵を見るには要問合せ。
