    Kyoto Nantanshi Sonobechouokawachi
This ravine is four kilometers long and is located on a 500-meter-high plateau in the south-west of Sonobe-cho, Nantan City. The clear stream that runs from Tsuten Lake reflects sunlight and glitters a lapis lazuli blue, hence the name. The clear stream and surrounding forest are ideal for hiking. There are also prepared walking paths available, bringing in many visitors from inside and outside the prefecture. The autumn changing leaves season is particularly recommended.

Kyoto Areas

around-area-map

Its wooden tea houses, shuffling geisha, and spiritual sights have seen Kyoto hailed as the heart of traditional Japan, a world apart from ultramodern Tokyo. Despite being the Japanese capital for over a century, Kyoto escaped destruction during World War II, leaving behind a fascinating history which can be felt at every turn, from the fully gold-plated Kinkakuji Temple down to traditional customs such as geisha performances and tea ceremonies, which are still practiced to this day.
