- Kyoto Nantanshi Hiyoshichounaka
- This dam is midstream in the Katsura River, the main water system of the Yodo River that flows through Nantan City, Kyoto Prefecture. It is adjoined by the Info Gallery, where you can tour inside Japan's first dam. Every June, various events to revitalize the local town are held, such as the Hiyoshi Dam Marathon. Amawaka Lake, the artificial lake made by the dam, is also famous as one of the Kansai region's best fishing spots.

- This dam is located in Nantan City, Kyoto Prefecture. In 1961, it became the first dam built in Kyoto Prefecture. With a park nearby, you can see cherry blossoms in the spring and the changing autumn leaves in the fall. Festivals are held in the spring and fall, and many people other than local residents also come to enjoy them. In the park, miniature gold, disc golf and athletic attractions are also available.

Kyoto Areas
Its wooden tea houses, shuffling geisha, and spiritual sights have seen Kyoto hailed as the heart of traditional Japan, a world apart from ultramodern Tokyo. Despite being the Japanese capital for over a century, Kyoto escaped destruction during World War II, leaving behind a fascinating history which can be felt at every turn, from the fully gold-plated Kinkakuji Temple down to traditional customs such as geisha performances and tea ceremonies, which are still practiced to this day.
