- This Japanese izakaya pub operates out of an atmospheric remodeled old townhome which can be reached by heading south from Biwako-hamaotsu Station on the Keihan Electric Railway; the pub is almost directly across from a stone monument marking the location of the site of the southeastern watchtower of the outer citadel of Otsu Castle. An Otsu Hyakucho Machinaka Bar-participating establishment, the pub serves oden stew, salads and cut vegetables, sashimi, and a wide variety of other foods that go great with an alcoholic beverage. The Odeko Set, which bears the pub's name, comes with three oden stewed foods and draught beer. The pub also stocks a full array of sakes. The pub is open until midnight.

- This cigar bar is a three-minute walk from JR Hikone Station. The only establishment in the prefecture where you can enjoy cigars and alcoholic beverages together, the bar is a favorite of local residents. The bar's expansive menu includes whiskys and other Western alcoholic beverages, and original cocktails inspired by famous local samurai; as well as pork cutlet sandwiches, chocolate ganache, and a full array of other foods. The bar's staff can advise you on how to choose and even smoke cigars, ensuring even beginners can feel comfortable coming here and trying a cigar or two. The bar is also open for lunch and serves Western-style dishes such as Omi beef hamburg steak which comes with a homemade dessert.

お刺身や鍋料理の和風から、カルパッチョなどの洋風、さらにはチーズの唐揚？天ぷら？の創作料理まで幅広い料理があり、先日ドイツからのお客様を案内したのですが大変満足していただけました。お店の従業員さんも海外のお客さんに慣れた感じでした。

少人数だと個室が用意できない店が多い中、この店に連絡したら用意してくれました。おかげで周りに気兼ねすることなく、楽しめました。古民家風の部屋は落ち着くこともできました。食事は豆腐、刺身盛り合わせ、シラスのサラダ、エビフライ、ポテト、魚や鳥料理、ちらしずしなどがありました。飲み放題二時間半というのが微妙に良かったです。

カラオケがうるさくて最悪！ 食事どころでは無い。 Boxよりうるさい。 歌うならカラオケに行ったほうが良い。
Shiga Areas
Visitors to Shiga prefecture are almost always hopping east across the prefectural border from Kyoto, and they are almost certainly Lake Biwa-bound. Covering an area of 670 square kilometers, Lake Biwa makes up the bulk of Shiga prefecture, with beautiful lakeside paths that offer myriad walking and cycling opportunities, connecting a string of museums, shrines, and picturesque views that finally lead you to Hikone Castle on the eastern side of the lake.
