This roadside station features exhibits on sightseeing in Heda, as well as the region's deep-sea fish, history, and culture. It also features a day spa and a food processing and cooking classroom. Make sure not to miss its market, which offers a vast array of products. These include vegetables harvested that morning in the nearby Nishi-Izu region and processed foods made with ingredients such as deep-sea fish and other marine products from Heda Port and scarce tachibana oranges. Some of its most popular items include Heda salt, tachibana jam, and the special sweets made by the Numazu River Side Hotel.

    沼津から西海岸を南下して、戸田峠に行く途中、いつも立ち寄ります。休憩と買物には便利です。足湯もありましたが、下田まで行くので今回はパスする。次回、利用したい。

Shizuoka Areas

around-area-map

With the giant Pacific Ocean to the south and the great Mount Fuji to the north, Shizuoka prefecture is blessed with some of the best views the country has to offer. The white sand beaches of the Izu Peninsula are a rare find on mainland Japan, neighbored by beautiful cliffs, tumbling hills, and natural hot springs. As Japan’s largest producer of green tea, the age-old tradition of tea drinking is ubiquitous in Shizuoka, from the miles of tea fields to the old tea houses hosting traditional tea ceremonies.
