    This park on the site of Komoro Castle in Komoro City, Nagano Prefecture has been selected as one of Japan’s 100 famous castles and 100 famous cherry blossom spots. Komoro Castle is an unusual structure built below the elevation of the castle town, and has also been called Anashiro Castle (“hole castle”). The park is dotted with facilities including the Important Cultural Property San-no-Mon gate, the Toson Memorial Hall, the Koyama Keizo Art Museum, a zoo and a children’s play area. It is appreciated by both tourists and locals looking for a place to refresh and relax. In spring there are 400 cherry blossom trees in bloom, and in autumn it is famous as a great place to see the changing leaves.

    A little-too-early for cherry blossom season, the park is particularly sparse and drab with no focal point to draw attention other than some bright and happy cartoon posters of a smiling lion...

    A park located in Arigasaki, Matsumoto City. The park has a zoo and hosts the Matsumotoshi Yama to Natural Museum, which offers a sweeping view of the Hida Mountains (Northern Alps). There's also a 630 meter long coaster slide and variety of other playground equipment. From adults to children, the whole family can enjoy an entire day here.

    Suwa City Kohan Park was built in 1953 when the Lake Suwa was dredged to form the shoreline. It features a footbath, a lake geyser center, a pleasure boat boarding point, an outdoor stage, and more for year-round enjoyment. A fireworks display is held over Lake Suwa every year on August 15, and the first Saturday in September is a national competition for showing off new fireworks. It’s about a 15-minute drive from the Suwa Interchange.

    If you filled up at a tasty restaurant in Suwa, the park is a nice place to take a walk and enjoy the view. Best for a stroll, and theres a little onsen stream where you can dip your feet.

In the Horigane and Hotaka districts there are two areas, where the preservation and restoration of rural scenery in Azumino is carried out. All areas of the national park are designed with a diverse array of recreational activities in mind.

The panoramic sunset view has earned widespread acclaim, and it is ranked among the 100 best sunset spots in Shinshu, the “New Japan Top Three Night Views,” and the “Top 100 Night Views.” It is also known as a natural habitat of Japan’s national butterfly, the giant purple butterfly. It is about 30 minutes by car from the Suwa Interchange on the Chuo Expressway.

    Ippongi Park opened in 1984 as a rest area for the locals, and thanks to the 172 types of roses (179 total) donated by Kikuo Kuroiwa, it has become a famous rose garden in the prefecture. There are currently 850 types of roses and 2,500 roses total, along with cherry trees and perennial herbs that visitors can enjoy year-round. It’s 15 minutes from Shinshu-Nakano Interchange on the Joshin-Etsu Expressway, or about a five-minute walk from Nakano-matsukawa Station on the Nagano Line.

    Hachimanpara Historic Park was built on the site of the Kawanakajima Kosenjo battlefield, famous for the battle between Takeda Shigen and Uesugi Kenshin. The park has thatched rooves with eaves and a small river with natural stone, as well as a municipal museum. In addition, there’s a playground, grassy field, and outdoor facility for visitors’ enjoyment. It’s about three minutes by car from Nagano Interchange on the Joshin-Etsu Expressway.

The Iiyama Nanohana Flower Festival is held during the golden week holiday block in May. The park grounds serve as the main festival venue, and a variety of events are held here, including concerts and a mochi rice cake pounding rally.

There are also highlights such as Otari hot spring, a health resort with a history of more than 450 years, and Togakushi Shrine, famous for the Heavenly Iwato legend. Rare birds such as the blue-and-white flycatcher, one of Japan’s top three singing birds, and the Japanese rock ptarmigan which is designated by the national government as a Special Natural Monument inhabit the area. Myoko-Togakushi renzan National Park area is also one of Japan’s heavy snowfall areas, and there are also many ski resorts.

    The park is located in Mugikusa Pass, the highest point on National Route 299 (Melchen Highway) connecting Chino City, Nagano Prefecture, to Iruma City, Saitama Prefecture, and is a protected area for alpine flora. There are mountain huts and walking trails in the surrounding area, making it easy to enjoy a stroll. Please note that National Route 299 (Merschen Highway) is closed during the winter.

    This V-shaped park at the east end of Lake Suwa is punctuated with the Kamaguchi Water Gate. There is a jogging path along the lakeside, and the wide-open waterfront is perfect for a stroll. The fountain on Lake Suwa there is lit up at night and sends its spray 55 meters into the air. There is also a hot spring water stand near the Okaya City Gymnasium where people fill up their plastic tanks so they can drive back and have a soak at home.

    A scenic spot created by erosion from the beautiful Tenryu River. In a rich natural setting, the park extends from Koya Bridge by Tenryu Station to Tsutsuji Suspension Bridge downstream. The area has been designated as Tenryu-Okumikawa Quasi-National Park. Boat trips are ideal for taking in the granite cliffs with their red pine and maple trees and the highlights scattered along the way. These include rock formations like Ryukakuho, that legend says was left long ago when a dragon took flight from the ravine, as well as Keikeitan, where it was said that the flash of the eyes of a dragon living under a cliff was seen. A trail lets you walk around the ravine, and there are monuments inscribed with Japanese poetry you can check out along the way.

    "A large park built on a terrace beyond the Tenryu River travelling from JR Inakita Station. Facilities include tennis courts, baseball grounds, a pool, and playground equipment. The park is designed to be a space where everyone from children to senior citizens can enjoy sports and exercise. The park has also long been known as an excellent cherry blossom viewing destination, and during the blooming period in spring, many visitors come here to enjoy the sight of the park's nearly 300 Yoshino cherries and Kohigan-zakura cherry. Some of the park's many other highlights include the D51-209, a real locomotive, known to locals as ""Degoichi;"" and a stone monument dedicated to a song called ""Ina Bushi."""
