The spa’s two indoor bathing areas, one with a sauna and one with a medicinal herb bath, both command views of the Sea of Japan. Which area is the men’s and which the women’s alternates daily, making it possible even for those only staying a few days in the area to enjoy both. The waters of the bathhouse’mildly alkalinehypertonic low temperature spring are said to treat such ailments as nerve pain, muscle soreness, and chronic digestive diseases. Meanwhile, in the heated pool facility, there’s a 50-meter-long waterslide which can only be used for 15 minutes every hour. Customers rave that the fast and thrilling water slide is just like something from an amusement park.

日本海の絶景を見ながら温泉に入れるという日帰り温泉施設です。ちょっとの差でお風呂から見ることはできませんでしたが夕陽が素晴らしいところなので時間に合わせてお風呂に入ると良いと思います。海に近いせいか塩分の強い温まるお湯でした。プールやカラオケもあります。半官半民でしょうか、料金も手頃でいい施設と思います。夜はライトアップをしていました。

- This is a health promotion facility located in Tsunan Town, Nakauonuma County, Niigata Prefecture. There is a variety of hot springs and visitors can enjoy hot spring baths as well as a swimming pool using the water from the hot spring. The Bade zone bath includes a “Togoru” mineral hot spring, “Utase-yu” waterfall bath, laying bath, and sauna. In the pool zone there is a 25 meter pool, a children’s pool, a water slide, and swimming classes are also held. There is also a training room and a lounge in the facility. This facility requiring visitors to wear swimsuits also attracts couples and families.

プールは温泉です！結構長い、大人も楽しめるスライダー付きです。 浅い、子供用のプールと、真ん中が深いプールで140cm未満の子供は大人がつかなくてはならないようです。 小さいながら温泉の浴場つきなので遊んだ後もすっかりスッキリして出られます。 食堂付の休憩する場所があり、見学もできます。

There are two main bathrooms, a Japanese style and a Roman style bathroom, which visitors can enjoy on a daily rotating basis. Each of the baths has a spacious indoor bath, a medicinal herb bath, a natural radium ore bath, as well as an outdoor bath from where visitors can enjoy the wide open views of Mt. Yoneyama and Mt. Ogamidake. At extra cost visitors can also use the enzyme bath with naturally fermented enzymes of hinoki cypress sawdust and medicinal herbs. There is also a restaurant which serves dishes using homegrown organic vegetables, and a rest area.

地元の方たちが利用する、温泉施設のようです。脱衣場は、ちょっと手狭な感じがしましたが、浴室内はかなり広く、露天風呂も開放的で、快適に過ごせました。少ししょっぱいお湯はとても温まって、しばらく後までポカポカしていました。近くに行くようでしたら、お薦めです。

The salt-rich chloride springs are believed to be effective in treating cuts, burns, and chronic women’s diseases, and you can visit either facility you wish to partake in the baths. The large public baths can accommodate 30 people at once, so there's plenty of space. The wide windows offer a beautiful view of the sun setting over the Sea of Japan. You can refresh body and soul at the connected Sunset Nakajo hot spring facility.

Naena no Yu is a public hot spring facility located in the center of this region. It is a transparent, sulphate - hydrogen carbonate hot spring. There is a free rest area with tatami flooring, which is often used by customers visiting the hot spring for a day trip, and with tourist attractions rich in natural beauty, such as Naena Falls-one of Japan's top 100 waterfalls -nearby, it is the perfect place to relieve fatigue after a day of trekking. Also, to the north of the town is the Myoko Suginohara Ski Resort, which is a very popular destination for skiers in the winter.

- Ryujin no Yakata is a hot spring facility for day use in the town of Tsunan, Naka-uonuma County, Niigata Prefecture. It is located near Ryugakubo Spring, renowned as one of the 100 finest natural springs in Japan, and it is one spot where visitors can experience the abundant water from this spring. There is a long, narrow, dragon-shaped rock bath called Ryujin no Yu and a wooden bath patterned after a shrine forest called Jomon no Yu. Men and women trade places every Wednesday. A spacious tatami room where customers can relax after bathing is available at no charge, and individual rooms are available for a fee. There is even a restaurant where visitors can enjoy set meals or noodles.

毎年キャンプの時に利用しています。 こじんまりとしていますが、とても気に入っています。火焔型土器からお湯があふれる内風呂には縄文好きも私も娘も大変興奮し、外風呂には内風呂の窓にある小さなドアをおして出るのも楽しかったです。外の休憩所も大きくは無いけど、すごく心地良い空間でした。

- This municipal bathhouse is located at the intersection of National Route 7 and National Route 345. Its reasonable pricing is one of its characteristics, and children not yet in elementary school can enter for free, making it suitable for the whole family to go together. The school building was closed in 1996, and then later renovated. It has large bathing rooms and outdoor baths. Because there are meeting rooms and accommodation facilities, this facility also functions as a place for the locals to mingle. It is a sodium calcium sulfate spring, and its weak alkaline properties are good for softening the skin.

新潟県と山形県の県境に近いかなり上の方にある温泉施設です。入浴料が350円とお安くなっているので利用しやすいです。しかも露天風呂までついているのでゆったりと入ることができます。お湯の温度も露天は42.5度、内湯は43度とちょうど入りやすい温度で設定してくれていました。

Here customers can soak in a spacious, clean and hygienic tub filled with the iron-rich waters of a hypertonic mildly alkaline cold mineral spring. Notable for their pale yellow color and smooth texture, these waters also contain an abundance of heat radiating bicarbonate ions, and customers rave that even after sitting in them for long periods, they don’t experience heat-induced dizziness. Customers can take in a view of the azure Sea of Japan and the sun setting on the ocean not only from the bathhouse’ outdoor bath but also the indoor bathing area. Adjoining Osaki Yukiwariso-no-Sato, an area where many Primula modesta grow, many customers stop by this bathhouse after viewing the flowers.

The resort has both saunas and baths as well as a special black mud spring open air bath which mixes the spring water with mud from Myoko's Southern Jigokudani (Hell Valley) raising the mineral composition of the spring water and making this the perfect place to rest your tired body after a day of skiing or hiking. A low temperature charcoal sauna has a temperature of approximately 40 degrees Celsius and is available for women only for an additional fee. Along with an internet cafe and comic library with over 10,000 volumes there is a restaurant which serves Myoko Kogen beer delivered straight from the brewery.

- To reach this municipal hot spring center take the bus from Matsudai Station on the Hokuetsu Express Hokuhoku Line for 25 minutes and get off at the Matsu-no-Yama Onsen bus stop. Both indoor and outdoor baths are available. Matsunoyama Onsen is counted as one of Echigo's top three most famous hot springs and draws its water from one of seven wellsprings. The spring is known to have a strong medical benefit and due to its high salinity, you won't feel a chill after leaving the baths even in the winter. The spring contains both sulfur and calcium chloride and is said to have the highest content of boric acid in Japan.

- A day-use hot spring bathhouse in a little township, Futai on Mikuni Kaido, ancient highway. It is located 30 minutes from the Yuzawa Interchange. This is the only publicly managed hot spring bathhouse in Yuzawa with a jacuzzi and sauna. The bathhouse only has a men’s and a women’s indoor bathing area, but each is equipped with two tubs and a sauna, and customers can enjoy a relaxing soak in the spacious rooms. The bathhouse is also replete with a variety of other facilities, including a restaurant, rest lounge, and permanent children’s art exhibition. Located close to Kagura Tashiro, Kagura Mitsumata, and other area ski resorts, as well, the bathhouse bustles with skiers in winter.

- This hot spring recreation center is located in the Roadside Station Kugami with a very reasonable entrance fee. After 5 p.m. the fee drops even further drawing many families to the baths. The entrance fee also includes towel rental making this a great place to come and bathe empty handed. There's a large hall that you can relax in for free and pre-booked bento lunches are available. Located at the foot of Mt. Kugamiyama during the fall season you get a great view of the autumn colors from the outdoor baths. Check out Shuten-doji's spring, a free foot bath which is the perfect place to stop after hiking on Mt. Kugamiyama.

People like it for the variety of facilities including a bubbling bath, jet bath, and reclining bath. The Danran-no-Ie multi-purpose break facility is a great place for a free rest after your bath.
