  • Echigo Kamekonya Fujioka Dyeing Factory
    Style / Fashion
    Niigata Agano Chuocho 2-11-6
A long-standing dyed goods shop that continues to use the same techniques as when they were first founded back in 1748. They primarily produce order made goods for commercial clients including famous ryokan inns and classic Japanese-style restaurants both within and outside the prefecture. They use three dyeing techniques; Pour-Dyeing where the dye is poured over the cloth, Brush-Dyeing where the dye is applied to the cloth with a brush, and Dip-Dyeing where the dye is allowed to soak into the cloth. Each of the techniques results in finished goods with individual characteristics. Everything is handmade by craftsman giving each fabric an elegant feel. In addition to noren room dividers and big-catch fishing flags they have a variety of everyday items including hand towels, purses, book covers, and aprons.
