"A day trip hot spring bathhouse located in Yunogo Onsen a five-minute drive from the Yunogo-onsen Interchange on the Mimasaka Okayama Road. The bathhouse' source spring, also known as the ""Washi no Yu,"" has been known as a destination for therapeutic hot spring bathing since the Meiji period, and the bathhouse constantly replenishes its baths ""kakenagashi"" style using its waters. The bathhouse has two bathing areas - the Do no Yu, which has a large bath, jet bath, and geyser fountain; and the relaxation-oriented Shizu no Yu, which has a lie down bath and cave bath. There bathhouse also has a large reception hall where you can relax, bring in food, or even order food to be delivered. The bathhouse' shop sells local specialty products such as vegetables and fruits from Mimasaka City, as well as a variety of gifts and souvenirs like an original sake."

This day-use hot spring is just a ten-minute drive from the Yubara Interchange on the Yonago Expressway. Located in Maniwa City it's known as one of the Top Three Springs in Mimasaka and also offers lodging options. The building, perched atop a stone embankment, was built in the Meiji period and the nature surrounding it gives it a secluded hot spring atmosphere. The clear spring water gushes out of cracks in the naturally blue-tinged bedrock and is a somewhat tepid 38 degrees Celsius. The spring is a hypotonic alkaline spring that aids with nerve pain, muscle soreness, joint pain, and chronic digestive diseases among other things. You can also enjoy cuisine made with soft-shelled turtles raised in the spring water.

Okayama Areas

around-area-map

Overshadowed by Hiroshima to the west and the Kansai region to the east, Okayama is an easy spot to miss but a nature-rich gem where the Seto Inland Sea laps at its toes and peach and grape farms complete its interior. One of Japan’s Three Great Gardens, Koraku-en in Okayama city is well worth a visit before progressing to Kurashiki, where preserved wooden Edo buildings line the picturesque canal.
