- This complex facility is located adjacent to Cross-ten Tokamachi Roadside Station, and is host to the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennial festival, which is held once every three years. Inside the complex are facilities such as an art museum, a day-use hot spring called Akashi-no-Yu and a community FM station called FM-Tokamachi. The first floor is used as a venue for events such as Tokamachi Tezukuri City and is also often used for local community events.

美術館の鑑賞を終えてから入浴しました。明るく広々とした気持ちのいい浴室でした。訪れた日は金曜日レディースディで、嬉しいことに入館料が割引。泥パックが用意されていました。イベントも多くあるらしく面白そうです。露天風呂はありませんが浴室、脱衣所ともにきれいでした。ロビーにたくさん椅子があったのが印象的で、広間以外でも座って休憩ができるのはとても良いと思いました。

- A hot spring footbath located in Senami Onsen, a hot spring district records state was opened when hot spring water began welling forth from a petroleum dig in 1904. According to legend, a fox spirit predicted the hot spring’s appearance by the cry of a fox in a yelping voice, konkon,the night before. A statue of Konkon-chan, the mascot of Senami Onsen which was inspired by this tale, stands in the center of the circular footbath. Situated along a walking path, the footbath is open 24 hours a day and may be freely used by anyone. Senami Onsen is also known as the “Netsu no Yu” (“High Temperature Bath”), and the temperature of its waters is quite high. This footbath is filled direct from an area spring and is thus recommended for those who like their footbath on the hot side.

- “Oroku” was the childhood nickname of military commander and samurai Naoe Kanetsugu, who was born in Minamiuonuma and recently depicted as the protagonist in the NHK historical drama “Tenchijin” This footbath stands in the vicinity of the Muikamachi Ohashi Bridge not far from the center of the town of Muika. The waters of the footbath’s sodium chloride spring are on the hot side at 52. 9° C. Built in an ellipse with a table in the center, many locals as well as climbers of Mt. Sakado and other tourists stop by here. Statues of young Naoe Kanetsugu and Katsurahime, the younger sister of the lord of Sakado Castle Uesugi Kagekatsu, stand nearby.

新潟の五頭温泉郷のひとつ、出湯温泉にある共同浴場。出湯温泉にある華報寺の境内にあります。ひなびた外観ですが、お湯は素晴らしいです。ぬるめの温泉で、つつまれるような感触。かすかなにおいがします。湯船のまん中から温泉がでていて、飲泉も可能な温泉です。
