Located in the Takiyamamachi district of Tokyo’s Hachioji City, this is the only Michi-no-Eiki roadside station in the metropolis. Inside the facility are shops selling side dishes and a farmers’ market where customers can purchase fresh foodstuffs produced by local farmers, as well as cafes and a food court where visitors can taste items on the menu using plenty of locally produced vegetables and dairy products. The Hachioji ramen using onions as a topping is popular. In addition to the provision of traffic updates and sightseeing information in the break area, there is also a kids corner.

This is popular as a mountain that can be reached from the city in just one hour. Having received three stars as a sightseeing location from the Michelin Guide, it is visited by approximately 3 million people each year who come primarily for viewing colorful fall foliage or to hike in the warmer months. It’s an easy mountain to access for both children and inexperienced visitors with a cable car in addition to the various well-maintained hiking paths. It’s famous for tororo soba and shops also sell souvenirs associated with tengu (a long-nosed goblin in Japanese folklore). There is also a monkey park, wildflower garden, and observatory, and in the summer season the beer garden near the summit is popular. An onsen (hot springs) lies just in front of Takaosanguchi Station.

"The former residence of Jiro Shirasu and his wife, Masako. Shirasu played an important role in post-World War II diplomacy in Japan. On a hill in verdant Tsurukawa, it has a museum, restaurant, and cafe on site. Once known as ""the coolest man in Japan,"" he studied English at Cambridge University, and was said to have argued with GHQ (General Headquarters of the Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers), even standing up to MacArthur. Although women had been barred from performing traditional Noh theater, she appeared on stage and was so successful she even had a stage name. The facility is replete with reminders of the couple, and you can even enjoy Western-style fare that faithfully recreates their meals."

The Freedom and People's Rights Movement was a political movement in the Meiji period consisting largely of the former warrior class, wealthy farmers, and people of lower farming classes. The JIYU MINKEN Institute of Machida City collects and displays materials related to this movement and the history of Machida. The ceramic wall relief at the entrance of the permanent exhibition room appears to symbolize the various people who participated in the movement. Renovated in 2016, the permanent exhibition teaches about the movement as it pertains to the Buso Region (the area of modern Kanagawa Prefecture, as well as Tama). There is also a new children's section in the corridor where they learn about the movement from a slightly different angle from what they're taught in school.
