    Travel / Tourism
    Tokyo Machida-shi Oyamamachi 3112-2s Tono
A stone circle discovered in 1968 during the cultivation of a field. It is presumed to have been a ritual site created in the late Jomon period between 3,500 and 2,800 years ago. The nine by seven-meter circle was built on a graveyard consisting of 30 tombs. Currently it's been re-buried for preservation purposes, but a replica is available for viewing. About five minutes on foot from Tamasakai Station on the Keio Sagamihara Line, it is the closest stone circle to a train station in Japan, and the only Jomon period stone circle in the Tokyo area.

    Travel / Tourism

There are also hiking trails around the farm, so you can enjoy the forest while harvesting. For limited periods they also sell cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, and Moroccan green beans, all cultivated in the open. Lots of families bring boxed lunches and enjoy a full day out while visiting Aihara Central Park next door with its flower gardens and lawn area.

  • Silk Road
    Travel / Tourism
    Tokyo Hachioji-shi Yarimizu
"This is the common name for ""Hama-kaido Road,"" once known as ""Kanagawa Okan."" The two kilometers stretching from the foot of the ""monument to silk"" is now located approximately two kilometers from the base of Goten Bridge along the Oguri River. After the opening of the port of Yokohama in 1859, it was one of the routes along which raw silk for export was transported until the middle of Meiji period (1868-1912), and on which a railway was developed thereafter. It is thought that raw silk produced around Hachioji was first deposited at Hachioji-juku, and then transported to Yokohama along this road. The unpaved part of the road that still retains its old features has also been selected as one of the top 100 Historical Roads by the Agency for Cultural Affairs."

Tokyo Areas

around-area-map

The setting of countless iconic movie scenes and the inspiration for songs, poetry, and literature worldwide, Tokyo barely requires an introduction. It’s hard for the kaleidoscopic neon lights, wacky pop culture, and some of the world’s tallest structures not to instill excitement in any first-time visitor to Tokyo, whether you’re in the very center of the hustle and bustle in Shinjuku or Shibuya or looking in from the quieter suburbs.
