- Tokyo Hachioujishi Minamiasakawamachi 3426
- This Japanese restaurant in a mountain hamlet surrounded by nature feels like a secret getaway. It's about three minutes by car from Takaosan Interchange on the Keno Expressway. They serve savory cuisine made with seasonal ingredients cooked on the charcoal fire of their irori hearth. Their plump and tasty thick-cut charcoal grilled chicken is a popular. The shop alters its ambiance to coincide with the changing seasons. Visitors look out on cherry blossoms in spring, fireflies in the garden in summer, the colored foliage of fall, and winter's snowy cover. The photogenic location makes it in demand for business dinners and wedding receptions.

Individual rooms with personal meal preparation was a particular treat. The food was exquisite. The detail of which I have spoken to friends since 1986 was the fireflies. An announcement was made...

- A quiet, laid-back ramen restaurant. The restaurant only has counter seats, meaning you can ignore your surroundings and concentrate on taking your time and enjoying a delicious bowl of ramen. Consisting of a light broth; thin, crimped noodles; and simple toppings, Raimon's ramen is renowned for having a flavor that never tires. Other popular items on the menu include the filling and wallet-sparing takikomi gohan mixed rice set, and Raimon's slow-roasted chicken wings.

- "A bread shop in a quiet residential area at the top of a hill. Tamagawa Gakuenmae is the nearest station. They sell their superb bread in an off the beaten track shop favored by those in the know. Their most popular item is called ""Milky France,"" a baguette filled with a house sweet cream made from buttercream and condensed milk. You might get hooked by the rich cream and chewy outer texture of their hallmark item. Their non-fried French curry buns feature an original filling with a special blend of spices and nicely crunchy onions. Their popular made-to order sandwiches contain your favorite fillings and the bread of your choice. They're even good enough to share."

Tokyo Areas
The setting of countless iconic movie scenes and the inspiration for songs, poetry, and literature worldwide, Tokyo barely requires an introduction. It’s hard for the kaleidoscopic neon lights, wacky pop culture, and some of the world’s tallest structures not to instill excitement in any first-time visitor to Tokyo, whether you’re in the very center of the hustle and bustle in Shinjuku or Shibuya or looking in from the quieter suburbs.
